If you need a drink in Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? You have a few choices. You can always grab a Cold Brew Black Caf at Docking Bay 7, but if you want to have a drink in a real hive of scum and villainy, there’s Oga’s Cantina.
Well, things at Oga’s Cantina has been changing in Disneyland. First, Oga’s got rid of advance reservations and now only has walk-up availability (meaning you might have to stand in line to get inside). But this popular bar is going to be closing soon, and although we originally thought the closure was only going to be for about five days, it looks like it might be closed longer than that.
We initially reported that Oga’s Cantina in Disneyland would close on January 20th, but when we first reported that, we showed hours for the bar on the Disneyland calendar on January 25th. However, that has changed. The Disneyland calendar is now showing that Oga’s Cantina doesn’t have any hours between January 20th and February 26th, as far as the Disneyland calendar goes out. That’s a much longer closure than we anticipated.
So instead of what we thought might be quick routine maintenance, it seems the bar is going to be closing for a longer refurbishment. Disney hasn’t yet revealed what this closure is for, but could it have something to do with original trilogy storylines coming into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? Will Oga’s get some kind of original trilogy update? Will we finally get an actual animatronic cantina band? Disney did tease that a “Cantina Band” will be heard from within the bar, after all. Dare we dream? (Granted, we’d be happy with more seating, too.)
Of course, this could just still be a regular maintenance thing, and the bar will reopen with a fresh coat of paint, and that’s about it. We’ll keep an eye out for more details, though, and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

Not sad about that. I have to admit that this place is my biggest dissapointment at Disney. total letdown that bar, took years to get in and it wasn’t at all like the bar in Star Wars. It was a total letdown when I came in. Bought my drink with a keepsake glass and got out. Going in feb and this bar was not on my radar.
