New bao buns have arrived in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We are suckers for fluffy bao buns filled with delicious fillings, so when we spotted a new addition to Tiffins Restaurant’s menu, we had to give them a try. New bao buns will also be coming to Nomad Lounge — although they will be different than the new ones at Tiffins. So, if you are a bao bun fanatic, check out both Tiffins and Nomad Lounge for new offerings.

Tiffins Restaurant

Over at Tiffins, you can grab the Pork Belly Bao Buns. Nomad Lounge will be offering Korean Barbecue Mushroom Bao Buns (although they didn’t have them quite yet when we were in Animal Kingdom last week. We grabbed a table at Tiffins Restaurant to try out the new buns, and now we are bringing you our review!

You can grab the Pork Belly Bao Buns for $16. They feature Korean barbecued glazed pork belly, cucumber kimchi, and pickled green papaya. Each order comes with 2 buns. We thought these bao buns were delicious. The combination of sweet and sour flavors balances each other nicely. You get sweetness from the barbecue sauce and sourness from the cucumber kimchi and pickled green papaya.

The pickled fruit and veggies, along with the cilantro, gave this dish a very fresh profile. The pork belly was tender, with a good amount of chew. Everything was packed into soft, fluffy bao buns. The various textures come together to make this taste like a very well-rounded dish. Our only complaint was that there were only two buns; we wanted more!

While you are at Tiffins, we also recommend checking out Tiffins Signature Bread Service. It features Thai red curry milk bread, pão de queijo, papadam, coconut-curry sauce, guava sauce, and ginger-pear chutney. We come back to this bread service time and time again! You could even grab it alongside these new bao buns for a bit of an appetizer sampler. Sounds like a delicious time in Animal Kingdom to us!
