Disney’s Live-Action ‘Tangled’ Announcements Are Already Breaking the Internet

HUGE news out of the Disney live-action world that you 100% need to know about if you’re looking forward to the upcoming film.

Recently, it was just confirmed that Teagan Croft will portray Rapunzel and Milo Manheim will bring Flynn Rider to life, and that leaves questions flying around who the next cast member to be added to the film would be. Now, we have our answer — it looks like one of our favorite characters from Marvel’s WandaVision could be cast as one of our favorite Disney Villains of all time.

According to Deadline, Kathryn Hahn, most known for playing Agatha Harkness in “WandaVision” and “Agatha All Along,” is now being eyed to play Mother Gothel in the live-action remake of Tangled!

Mother Gothel is the villain in Tangled, and is known for obsession with youth. Since Rapunzel’s hair is the magic that keeps her young, she uses manipulation to keep Rapunzel in the tower, believing that she always knows what’s best for her.

Originally, the production was eying Scarlett Johansson for the role, but she backed away due to her upcoming heavy production schedules with Batman II and The Exorcist reboot. Once that announcement came out, the internet very quickly began hoping for Hahn to be offered the role. Now, it seems that the dream may be coming true.

In other news, Michael Gracey (best known for directing The Greatest Showman) is still attached to direct the feature, and the script is written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and is based on the 2010 animated film of the same name. Kristin Burr will produce the film, while Lucy Kitada will executive produce.
