While we’re sad about the holiday season wrapping up at Disneyland, the return of some regular season fan-favorite offerings has us super excited!
In early December 2025, Disney revealed a bunch of 2026 Disneyland news — including some tidbits about returning entertainment. As part of the ongoing Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration, a popular fireworks show is about to come back after a winter hiatus, and we’re incredibly excited to see it grace the California night sky once more!
The Halloween and holiday seasons are often transformative at the Disneyland Resort, and — as such — some of the 70th Anniversary offerings were put on pause while seasonal overlays and offerings took center stage. With the resort gearing up for “normal” operations again, we’re getting some beloved entertainment back — like the Wondrous Journeys fireworks spectacular!
This fireworks show was brought back specifically for the 70th Anniversary and features amazing pyrotechnics, projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street, U.S.A., songs from our favorite Disney and Pixar movies, and more special effects. The holiday season officially ends on January 7th, 2026, so it makes sense that this 70th Anniversary offering is back at Disneyland Park beginning the next day on January 8th!
Similarly, the daytime Celebrate Happy Cavalcade — which features beloved Disney characters (including Duffy and ShellieMay, as well as Mickey and his pals in special anniversary outfits) — is returning to Disneyland on January 9th.
Notably, the uber-popular Paint the Night nighttime parade is THANKFULLY also coming back at the end of the month on January 30th! One of Disney’s most famous nighttime parades worldwide, Paint the Night features floats boasting dazzling lights and brilliant characters amid a soundtrack that features fan-favorite Disney tunes remixed to incorporate Owl City and The Jonas Brothers.
We must admit, we’ve missed these offerings dearly and can’t wait to experience them again this year!
As a reminder, the 70th Anniversary Celebration runs through August 9th, 2026, after which these offerings will likely be shelved once more. Make sure you visit before then if you want to experience them in person!
