When you’re headed to Disney World, it’s important to pack everything you need in your bag. That includes the things you may not THINK you’ll need, and then regret immensely when you realize you didn’t think it’d be important.
Now, listen, we totally get that not EVERYTHING marketed as an “essential” actually IS one. We’ve seen it time and time again, and that’s why WE spend money on those, so then we can tell you what’s actually worth it (spoiler alert: there are a LOT out there that we’d never recommend). These six items, though? We’ve tried them all out ourselves and genuinely think they made our trips a lot better — now we want the same thing for you!
A Poncho That Actually Works
If there’s one thing we love more than getting soaking wet without a poncho, it’s buying a poncho in Disney World for a wild price, then realizing it rips super easily, or makes you feel like you’re a baked potato in a hot oven on a humid summer day in the parks. That’s where the Frogg Toggs Poncho comes in! For me personally, this is the ONLY poncho I will ever use. If I’ve forgotten it on my trip, I immediately regret it when I’m walking around with sopping wet clothes, or hiding inside instead of enjoying my Disney World day. The moment anyone tells me they’re looking for a poncho, this is the one I’ll recommend every time!
Never Run Out of Plugs Again
There’s very little that annoys us more than realizing we don’t have enough outlets in our Disney World hotel room for all our electronics. Or, maybe you’re like me and don’t want to spread out your electronics all over the room, and would instead prefer to keep them in one place. The Flat Plug Power Strip is 100% for you then, and will ease all your worries! Turn one outlet into seven and give yourself peace of mind that everything will charge how it should.
A UV Umbrella Will Change it ALL
Sure, you’ve heard of umbrellas for rain, and they usually work pretty well. Maybe you’ve actually seen regular umbrellas used to keep the sun off of people as well! Again, a very smart idea, but sometimes it doesn’t work super well. We’ve tried the BAODINI Travel Essentials Mini Umbrella on some of the hottest days of the year and are NOT JOKING when we say it drops the temperature underneath it by 5-10 degrees instantly. I was in the park with one of my coworkers who was trying this out, and it was a RELIEF — I wanted to stay under it all day, and plan to grab myself one before summer comes around again (I very much regretted not having one this past year).
The MultiCharger for ANYTHING USB
Don’t be fooled by the name of the MultiCharger for MagicBand+ — yes, it can charge up to four MagicBand+ at one time, but it can ALSO charge anything else that uses a USB charger. That means your phone, watch, camera, and more could all be charged using this one device. It’s another way to help keep all your items contained in one spot, and that means things don’t get lost as easily.
Never Use Paper Straws Again
We love that Disney wants to be environmentally friendly and move away from plastic, but those paper straws in the park are truly awful (we’re all thinking it). If you’re someone who doesn’t want to mess with them, bring along a pack of the Sunseeke Silicone Straws to use — they all come with their own carrying cases, making it easy to bring them around the park with you! You can rinse them out at water fountains or in the bathrooms, and then they’re good to go for the next time you need to use them.
Single-Use Utensils? No, Thank You
Something else we really love using, especially during EPCOT festivals, is the Reusable Travel Utensils Set! One set comes with four packs (that’s a GREAT deal), and you can easily carry them around with you in the parks with the carrying case they each come in. Again, they’re easy to rinse off before your next use in the park — you’ll never need to worry about finding silverware ever again.
We’re constantly on the lookout for the essentials that will ACTUALLY make your Disney World trip easier, so stay tuned to DFB!
