Over at Disney’s shopping and dining district, it seems like Sprinkles cupcake shop might be closing permanently. With tons of closures already happening around Disney World, we’re preparing ourselves for the loss of our ATM cupcakes. We’re investigating what’s going on with the dessert shop here.

Reportedly, Sprinkles Cupcakes is heading for closure around the country, including the Disney Springs shop. Rumors have been circulating online that the national chain will be closing permanently on January 1st, 2026, although the company has not made a comment. The popular dessert shop, which is known especially for its cupcake ATM, is no longer showing hours on the Disney website as of January 1st, 2026. The Walt Disney World app also says it’s closed.

When we called the online orders number, an automated voice shared that the bakery was no longer taking orders. Later on January 1st, the storefront was closed, and when we asked a Cast Member, they said the bakery is closed forever.

We also reached out to the Tampa storefront, which confirmed they will be closing on January 1st. They also shared that they know they aren’t the only Sprinkles storefront closing, although they didn’t confirm how many were included.

It’s important to note that you can still order cupcakes for nationwide shipping right now. When we tested it, we were still able to make an order in January, for example. This leads us to wonder if they are just closing their storefronts and will still continue to operate online.

These sweet cupcakes will be missed if the rumors are true.
