It’s no secret that the holiday season is a great time to visit Disney World, if you don’t mind crowds. The parks are decorated for the season, the snacks are THE BEST, the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays is happening, and there’s so much to see and do during this time of year.
But as we mentioned, crowds can be an issue this time of the year. Even Disney World transportation can get pretty full during the holidays, which means you may consider using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft during your trip. If you do plan on getting Uber or Lyft in Disney World, though, we’ve got to offer a word of warning.
Even if you bring your own vehicle to Disney World, you may not want to drive around the resort because parking can be tricky when things are so busy. This is particularly true in Disney Springs, where it’s recommended that you arrive at least an hour before any reservation you might have there. You’ll also have to keep an eye on the digital signs on Buena Vista Drive, alerting you about which lots still have spaces. Sometimes it gets so busy that Disney Springs has to pause parking and pedestrian entry into the shopping and dining area.
So you might want to consider a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, but that, too, comes with a problem. You may find yourself waiting for a while to get a car to go to wherever you’re going, and you may have to wait a while to get picked up later. You’ll find that a lot of people had the same idea, and again, this is especially true in Disney Springs, which is packed this time of year.
So if you are using an Uber or Lyft, consider reserving your pick-up times in advance so that a car will be waiting for you when you need it to be. This will make your life a lot easier during the busiest time of the year in Disney World. It might mean you’ll have to plan your trips in advance, but it will save you a lot of waiting in the long run.

Would never… wait times are horrendous
We reserved our Uber for both ways to Disney Springs on Christmas day. No problem getting there. We wanted to leave from the Carousel side and there were so many people there it was ridiculous. And cars were backed up. Our driver got stuck on hotel plaza blvd. It took him over 20 minutes to go down hotel plaza blvd, and to get in line to get in. I’ve never seen it like this.
