Traveling this holiday season has been wild in Orlando!

Flying with Southwest
It’s no secret that flying during the holiday season is crazy, but no one would expect it to be THIS crazy at the Orlando International Airport. We’re not talking about it being busy; we’re talking about the absurd amount of cancellations and delays!
Christmas Day has come and gone, and now people are headed back home from their Disney World vacation or from visiting family. Or, so they thought they were going to be doing today!

Orlando International Airport
As of the time of reporting this, it’s not even noon, and there have been 284 delays and 35 cancellations at the Orlando International Airport! It’s an unfortunate situation and definitely not one that people traveling home after the holidays were anticipating. For the latest updates, keep an eye on your airline’s app, as that should provide the most accurate information about the status of your flight. While you wait, you can shop at the Disney Store in the airport!
Storms are hitting several areas of the country, resulting in delays at airports all over.

MCO Airport Security
From delays and cancellations to expansion talk, the Orlando Airport has been flooded with news. MCO is about to undergo a Concession Master Plan that will be opening in phases, bringing more than 40 new retail and dining locations to MCO starting in the summer of 2026 until late 2028.

The airport will also be undergoing changes to the terminals, the tram service, the rental car lobby, and more. It’s going to be a busy time at MCO!
