As the holiday season gets ready to wrap up in Disney World and we get ready to ring in a brand New Year (seriously, WHERE did 2025 go, y’all?), something HUGE will be ending in EPCOT soon.
The EPCOT Festival of the Holidays started on November 28th and will end on December 30th, which means all the food booths, special festival activities, and the Candlelight Processional will all be going away very soon. That means EPCOT is about to undergo a MASSIVE change.
EPCOT will look a lot different on December 31st. Now, many of the holiday decorations will still be up, so you can enjoy them for a little while longer. However, the Candlelight Processional will come to an end, all those hidden Olafs will disappear, and the food booths will be closed.
That means that CommuniCore Hall will also be a lot emptier because everything inside it will also be going away, too. So no more gingerbread Spaceship Earth!
Now, you will start seeing some new things going up in EPCOT ahead of New Year’s Eve. We’ve already spotted some lighting and sound set-ups beginning to form around World Showcase. These will be used for dance parties throughout the park that you’ll only be able to enjoy on New Year’s Eve.
Then those structures will also come down, and EPCOT will look a little less exciting, at least until January 16th, when the EPCOT Festival of the Arts begins. Then you’ll see NEW food booths popping up all over the park, a new display inside Communicore Hall, and fun photo ops popping up everywhere. No lie…this is my absolute favorite EPCOT festival because there is so much to see and do and eat. Plus, the Disney on Broadway concert series is sure to satisfy every theatre nerd.
So we’ll see you on January 16th, when we’ll be checking out the EPCOT Festival of the Arts to get you reviews and live updates from the festival. You’ll want to make sure you stay tuned to DFB for all that and more!
