Let me let you in on a little secret — the best way to meet characters at Disney World is with character dining. I know, it can be expensive, but hear me out. Multiple characters, usually around four, come up to YOU at your table, so you don’t have to wait an hour in line for one character for the family to have a total meltdown by the time you actually meet the character. It also involves food, so you know I’m in.
Hollywood & Vine is one of those super cool character dining experiences where you can meet Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto (yes, you literally get to mark four characters off your list in one go) and dine on some fun food. Hollywood & Vine has seasonal changes, and we just got the dates for the next one.
Hollywood & Vine Springtime will run from March 11th to May 20th, and Summertime Dine will start on May 21st. Silver Screen Dine will also run from January 5th to March 10th, but we already knew about that one!
Now, what’s the difference between all of these? Well, not too much! Minnie and her friends change their outfits for more seasonal costumes. You’ll still get the same dining experience, but meeting the characters in different outfits is pretty fun for family photos.
Hollywood & Vine has breakfast from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, lunch from 10:45 AM to 3:55 PM, and dinner from 4 PM to 8 PM, and is a buffet with items like smoked ham, sour cream and shive mashed potatoes (YUM!), shrimp, shepard’s pie, and risotto.
If you have a meeting with Mickey and his friends on his list, there are a few other options around Disney World that might work for you, too. EPCOT has Garden Grill with Chip ‘n Dale, Mickey, and Pluto.
Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort (which is a short walk from EPCOT) has Minie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy.
You can also meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald at Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (a short walk from Magic Kingdom).
For breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Rivieriera Resort (a short skyliner trip), you have Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy.
You can’t forget about Tusker House in Animal Kingdom with Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Mickey either.
There’s also breakfast at ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (a short trip from Magic Kingdom), where you can meet Mickey and Pluto, along with Lilo and Stitch.
I love character dining because I can enjoy a meal while meeting characters without waiting in line. It’s also a more relaxing experience, and a bit easier with larger groups, and of course, I love the food.
