Something you may not know about Disney World is that before they can do ANYTHING construction-wise (and we do pretty much mean anything), they have to file a permit to ensure it’s approved and all done properly.
This goes for the hotels, parks, Disney Springs, and everything in between, and the best part is that those permits are available to the public to see! They’re a little tricky to find, but we’re always on the lookout for new ones, and this time, our search turned up not one permit, but TWO. Yes, that means that in addition to all the construction currently happening around the resort, there will soon be even more.
The first permit is for EPCOT, specifically the Imagination Pavilion. How do we know it’s the Imagination pavilion? Well, did you know that every spot in Disney World has to have its own address, more than just the park it takes place in? It’s true, and that’s how we know this is for the Imagination Pavilion.
The permit is for “general construction” and is being done by Miller Electric Co., so it’s possible they might just be working on some lights or electrical pathways in the pavilion. It’ll expire a year from its acknowledgement, which would make it December 18th, 2026.
The second permit is for Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and is also for General Construction. However, this one is being performed by Lo Temp Engineering, so that really opens up the possibilities for what this could be. We’re really hoping it won’t close off any big sections of the hotel, though! I mean, preferably, we’d like nothing closed, but we’re unsure we could get that lucky.
This permit will also expire a year from its acknowledgement, which will make it December 19th, 2026. We’ll be sure to keep a close eye on everything happening around the hotel to see what sections are worked on under the permit.

This is really concerning (especially how vague it is for a planning permit giving no indication on the trade/task specific planning they are even doing and when?
I booked my (5 digit) all in package from the Disney website in March for August. All there has been since then is close after close of classic rides and resorts, some during, some SHOULD BE finished. I booked CARRIBBEAN BEACH for 14 days because it JUST had construction so felt confident that we would be safe.
AT WHAT DATE from your booking can you not get a full refund? It’s one thing closing a ride but to have potential construction – who knows what – going on in your hotel when that money sitting in the mouses account could go towards 3/4 quality holidays is not on.
I don’t want to cancel but in normal circumstances it’s a massive red flag a hotel having work done during your stay and would be avoided if known about it.
