Hey, I go to Disney World a lot. Like every week. So to say I’ve spent some money in Disney World would be an understatement. I would probably be afraid to count up all the receipts from this past year alone, especially if we throw in the cost of an Annual Pass.
Because we adore our readers, we’re sharing what we bought in Disney World and why we wish we hadn’t. From essentials we can’t believe we would ever forget to snacks that we should have skipped, we’re sharing what we’d buy instead!
First up, the classic Mickey Pretzel.

Mickey Pretzel
I know, I know, I’m not saying completely write these off because sometimes they are just what you need. That being said, this is likely not going to be the best pretzel of your life. Honestly, Wetzel’s Pretzels at Disney Springs will probably give you that buttery, salty pretzel you’re craving. The Mickey ones in the parks can be $8.50, which is pretty high for a mediocre pretzel.
Another common one, Rain Ponchos!
Here in Central Florida, it’s probably going to rain. It would almost be surprising if it didn’t rain. Do yourself a favor: instead of buying that plastic trash bag with Mickey printed on it from the parks for a huge price, grab these online. They fold up to fit in your bag and are far more resubael than the ones you grab when you run into the nearrest store in Magic Kingdom, hoping for the best.
Don’t be like me: please get FuelRods beforehand.
These bad boys save my life in the parks. They’re battery packs that you can swap out for fully charged ones around Disney World, so whenever my phone battery is low, and I drain my battery pack, I switch it out and continue with my day. Don’t forget those cables, too. I broke my cable and had to buy a brand new pack in the parks, and the price was, well, YIKES!
Sunscreen. Sunscreen. Sunscreen.
Please bring it. Pretty please? But also, maybe don’t buy it in the parks. If it comes down to having sunscreen or not, please spend more money and use it, but if you can avoid it, you can grab it super affordably at the grocery store or on Amazon. We love the Supergoop! brand because it doesn’t make us feel greasy and is water and sweat-resistant, which is what we need in Florida.
Grab those Autograph Books!
I love having characters sign my book, and as someone who is sometimes a little awkward around characters, these are great icebreakers. You can buy a Disney official autograph book from the Disney Store on Amazon for $12. $12! I assure you ,they are far more expensive in the parks, and every time I run out of space and have to buy a new one, I’m always so surprised at that cost for a notebook. This one comes with a pen, too.
Umbrellas make life easier, too.
This umbrella is super small and folds up into your backpack. I feel like the ones I find in the parks are always so big and annoying to carry. This one can be used for sun protection as well as for rain. It’s only $14, which is such a steal.
Don’t be tempted by the Loungefly Bags!
There are some super cool bags in the parks whose design makes my heart flutter, but that price tag makes my heart sink! You can buy official Disney Loungefly bags on Amazon, where you can usually grab them on sale. A generic one like this black bag with a Minnie bow can match any of your outfits and all of the parks you’re visiting, too.
The same goes for Minnie Ears.
I love them as much as you do, but the pricetag is hard to ignore. These ears are $10, and if you’re someone who doesn’t visit Disney very often, this can be a great way to go. Other ears can cost $40 or more, and they’ll probably all feel the same on your head. These are fun for kids, too, when you don’t want to spend a large amount but still want fun photos.
