One of the nation’s biggest carriers is expanding its offerings! Get ready to fly because American Airlines is adding 16 new routes over the coming year.

Of the 16 routes, 9 of them will be offered year-round, while one will be offered seasonally, and the other 6 have defined end dates at the time of writing. 

If you’re looking for an excuse to fly, this might be it! American Airlines’ new routes include:

• Boston (BOS) – Madison, Wisconsin (MSN), launching June 18th, 2026
• Boston (BOS) – Nantucket, Massachusetts (ACK), launching June 18th, 2026, and ending September 8th, 2026
• Charlotte (CLT) – Columbia, Missouri (COU), launching June 4th, 2026
• Chicago (ORD) – Erie, Pennsylvania (ERI), launching May 21st, 2026
• Chicago (ORD) – Lincoln, Nebraska (LNK), launching June 4th, 2026
• Chicago (ORD) – Tri-Cities, Tennessee (TRI), launching May 21st, 2026
• Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) – Lincoln, Nebraska (LNK), launching June 4th, 2026
• Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) – Roanoke, Virginia (ROA), launching June 4th, 2026
• Miami (MIA) – Jackson, Mississippi (JAN) E175, launching March 14th, 2026, and ending August 1st, 2026
• Phoenix (PHX) – Abilene, Texas (ABI), launching June 4th, 2026
• Phoenix (PHX) – Anchorage, Alaska (ANC), launching May 21st, 2026, and ending September 8th, 2026
• Phoenix (PHX) – Bozeman, Montana (BZN), launching June 4th, 2026, and ending September 8th, 2026
• Phoenix (PHX) – Kalispell, Montana, launching June 19th, 2026, and ending September 6th, 2026
• Phoenix (PHX) – Lincoln, Nebraska (LNK), launching Winter 2026, and operating seasonally
• Phoenix (PHX) – McAllen, Texas (MFE), launching June 4th, 2026
• Phoenix (PHX) – Rapid City, South Dakota (RAP), launching June 4th, 2026, and ending October 4th, 2026

In a press release accompanying the announcement of the new routes, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning Brian Znotins said, “American is proud to offer unmatched connectivity across the United States. Today, we’re furthering our commitment with new routes designed to help customers realize their travel goals in 2026 from important hubs such as Chicago and Phoenix. With new routes from places like Lincoln, Nebraska; Abilene, Texas; Columbia, Missouri; and more, we’re providing local residents one-stop access to seal business deals, take a dream vacation with friends or family, and enjoy soccer matches on the global stage.”
