When your stomach starts rumbling in Frontierland, there’s only one place that promises big portions, big flavor, and even bigger yee-haw energy.

Pecos Bill’s sign
We recently stopped by Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe at Magic Kingdom to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here!
Atmosphere
Walking into Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe feels a bit like stepping straight into an old Western movie set — the kind where the hero pushes through the swinging saloon doors, and everyone turns to look. Thankfully, no dusty bar fights are happening here, but the rustic frontier charm is everywhere you look. Weathered wood, hanging lanterns, cowboy gear, and “tall tale” treasures tucked onto shelves all work together to sell the story that Pecos himself might wander in at any moment. The atmosphere is lively but cozy, with just enough thematic detail to feel immersive without overwhelming you during your lunch break.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
Once inside, the layout opens into a series of connected dining rooms, each with its own subtle variation of that frontier style. Some areas feel like a saloon, others like an old inn with wooden rafters, wrought-iron accents, and lots of warm, earthy tones. There are plenty of tables spread throughout, from smaller two-tops to larger family-style seating, and because the rooms are separated, the noise stays surprisingly manageable for a Magic Kingdom quick-service spot. It’s the type of place where you can wander a bit to find a quieter corner, a spacious table, or a seat near the windows overlooking Frontierland. Even during busy hours, the multiple rooms and semi-covered outdoor seating help keep the crowds dispersed instead of clustering into one chaotic space.

Inside Pecos Bill
The ordering setup matches the no-nonsense Western feel: straightforward, efficient, and easy to navigate. Pecos Bill uses mobile ordering as well as traditional walk-up counters, so whether you’re a planner or a spontaneous snacker, you can get your food quickly. The counters line one side of the main entrance area, and pickup is organized with clearly marked windows and Cast Members guiding you along. There’s a self-serve condiment and topping station as well, which used to be a legendary part of the Pecos Bill experience when it included fixings for tacos and fajitas; while it’s more limited now, things are still neatly arranged and easy to access. Once you have your food, you simply choose a dining room and settle in — no deputies, sheriffs, or saloon brawls required.

Counters to order
But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
Pecos Bill’s menu leans into hearty, Tex-Mex–inspired comfort food — the kind of dishes that feel right at home in a frontier setting. While the offerings have changed over the years, the focus remains on flavorful, filling meals that can power you through a full day in Magic Kingdom. Expect a lineup of tacos, nachos, burgers, and rice bowls, each customizable enough that most folks can find something that suits their taste. Portions are generous for a quick-service location, making it a popular stop for families looking to get the most value out of a mealtime break.

Front of the printed menu
One of the standout features of Pecos Bill is its variety. You’ll find spicy options, milder kid-friendly choices, plant-based dishes, and fan-favorite sides like tortilla chips, guacamole, and queso. For those craving something classic, the beef and chicken entrees offer familiar flavors with a frontier twist, while the veggie and plant-based selections feel surprisingly hearty and thoughtfully crafted. Even picky eaters can usually find something dependable on the menu (which is a huge perk in a park where snacks and sweets often steal the spotlight)!

Back of the printed menu
Dessert lovers won’t walk away disappointed either. Pecos Bill regularly rotates a themed dessert or two, giving guests something fun and seasonal to try beyond the usual cupcakes and cookies found around the park. And while the restaurant isn’t known for specialty beverages, you’ll find refreshing fountain drinks, lemonades, and the occasional limited-time concoction tied to events or holidays. Ultimately, the menu is designed with the hungry park-goer in mind: reliable, satisfying, and quick to grab so you can get back to adventuring in Frontierland.
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Chicken Rice Bowl for $12.99. This is made with your choice of a protein (we chose chicken this visit) on top of stewed pinto beans, cilantro-lime rice, roasted corn, and black bean salsa, queso fresco, and pico de gallo.

Chicken Rice Bowl
The Chicken Rice Bowl is a surprisingly hearty and satisfying option, especially for a quick-service meal. It comes with a generous scoop of seasoned rice topped with tender pieces of grilled chicken, along with fresh toppings that add both color and texture. The flavors are mild but well-balanced, making it a great choice if you’re looking for something filling without being too heavy.
We also picked up the Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger for $16.99. This burger is outfitted with two flame-broiled all-beef patties topped with American cheese, bacon, and Coca-Cola® cherry barbecue sauce served with a side of fries.

Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger
This burger leans fully into the smoky-sweet flavors that define Pecos Bill’s menu. Two beef patties form the base, topped with gooey cheese and thick slices of bacon that add crunch and richness.

Inside the burger
The barbecue sauce brings a welcome tang and sweetness, elevating what could be a standard burger into something more craveable. It’s a substantial, knife-and-fork–optional entree perfect for anyone looking for something hearty and familiar.
While we were at it, we answered the call of the Queso Fries and decided our meal needed those, too.

Queso Fries
For $6.99, you can add this side of fries topped with chipotle queso and pico de gallo to your entree or order it as a quick snack. If you’re craving something cheesy, the Queso Fries get the job done. They’re a hearty portion of fries topped with plenty of queso, making them a solid side or even a small meal for a lighter eater. They’re not fancy, but they’re reliably tasty and definitely a step up from plain fries when you’re looking for something with a little more flavor.
To round out our meal, we grabbed the Sweet Corn Mousse for $6.29 as our dessert. This is also served with white chocolate and raspberry powder on top of its corn-molded form.

Sweet Corn Mousse
Don’t let the name scare you — the Sweet Corn Mousse is actually a fun little dessert! Think of it like a sweet, custard-like pudding with a hint of corn flavor woven in. It’s smooth, creamy, and a lot lighter than you’d expect from a Frontierland restaurant. If you’re curious about trying something different but still dessert-y, this is a great pick.
Drinks
To drink, we picked up the Strawberry Limeade Slush for $6.59.

Strawberry-Limeade Slush
Imagine someone took the best parts of a strawberry popsicle and a classic limeade and blended them into a brain-freezing cup of happiness. That’s the Strawberry-Limeade Slush. It’s sweet upfront with a zesty lime finish that keeps it from feeling too sugary, making each sip just tart enough to tempt you into another. If you weren’t paying attention to the name of the drink, though, it may leave you feeling like it’s a close cousin of the taste of a strawberry lemonade in frozen form.
Nosh or Not
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
-
Speed is your best friend. It’s convenient, fast, and located right in the heart of Frontierland. Pecos Bill is one of the easiest places to grab a quick, filling meal without straying far from the action. Mobile ordering keeps things moving, making it great for families and folks on the go.
-
You’re yearning for hearty portions that actually fill you up. Between the rice bowls, burgers, and loaded fries, you’ll find meals here that can genuinely power you through hours of walking and riding. It’s dependable comfort food — and sometimes that’s exactly what you need in Magic Kingdom.
-
You’re looking to dine somewhere with plenty of seating in a themed, air-conditioned space. The multiple dining rooms make it much easier to find a seat compared to other quick-service spots. It’s a great place to cool off, recharge, and take a breather without feeling packed in.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- Your ideal meal leans less heavy and unique. If you’re looking for something lighter, healthier, or more adventurous, the menu may feel a bit predictable. It’s classic theme park fare — satisfying, but not especially innovative.
- You’re looking to AVOID crowds. Even with lots of seating, Pecos Bill draws big crowds during lunch and dinner rushes. Lines can feel long, and it’s not the most peaceful spot if you’re hoping for a quiet break.
- You’re searching for the BEST quick-service restaurant in all of Magic Kingdom! While Pecos Bill is solid and reliable, it’s not always the standout choice compared to places like Columbia Harbour House or Sleepy Hollow Refreshments (depending on what you’re craving). If you’re looking for a “wow” meal, this may not be it.
Overall
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe continues to be one of Frontierland’s most reliable quick-service stops, offering hearty meals and a fun Western atmosphere that fits right into the storytelling of Magic Kingdom. The theming adds a layer of charm that makes even a fast meal feel like part of the adventure, and the spacious dining areas provide a comfortable retreat from the heat and crowds outside. From refreshing drinks like the Strawberry-Limeade Slush to satisfying entrées such as the Chicken Rice Bowl and the indulgent Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger, the menu delivers a solid mix of flavors that can please a wide range of palates. Even the sides and desserts (looking at you, Queso Fries and Sweet Corn Mousse) bring a fun twist that keeps the experience interesting.

The whole enchilada (meal)
While Pecos Bill may not be the most gourmet dining option in Magic Kingdom, it offers good value, variety, and a convenient place to refuel during a busy park day. Whether you’re craving something substantial to carry you through afternoon parades or just need a shaded seat and a cold drink, this Frontierland staple gets the job done with a little extra Disney flair. It’s a dependable choice for families, picky eaters, and anyone who appreciates quick, filling comfort food with a thematic touch. If you’re wandering the wild frontier and need a break, Pecos Bill is always ready to welcome hungry visitors.
