Finding breakfast at Disney World can be tough. When you’ve gotten up early, dealt with transportation and traffic to get to Magic Kingdom early enough to rope drop, after a ride or two, you’ll be looking forward to your first Disney snack of the day. For whatever reason, it can be hard to find a quick meal that will fill you up, is worth the price, and tastes good.

Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich

During another trip to Magic Kingdom, we were starving while waiting for our next Lightning Lane, and the sweet smell of fried chicken called us to Frontierland. Is this breakfast worth it? Let’s find out!

Say hello to the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich at Golden Oak Outpost for $10.49. It’s served with egg, strawberry-jalapeno jam, and pepper jack, served with potato barrels (aka Disney’s version of tater tots).

The sandwich

Well, this wasn’t anything too special, but that’s not a bad thing. We thought it was a little dry, but that’s kinda a Disney biscuit thing. The chicken wasn’t anything to write home about, and we were really missing the flavor of the honey, which we were looking forward to. The biscuit is the main flavor we tasted, with the egg and cheese in the background, but let’s not forget about the jam! The jam was a fun addition that gave the sandwich some sweetness, but we just wish there was more. We might try to ask for an additional side of it next time we’re at Golden Oak Outpost.

It’s a decent size

The tator tots are a familiar side you’ll find across all of Disney World and have a crunchy exterior that’s a little greasy with a classic potato taste on the inside. Overall, this is a fairly basic chicken biscuit, and you might have better luck grabbing one from Chick-fil-A for half the price. That said, there is nothing wrong with a consistent snack at Disney that will fuel you without stretching your flavor palate. This can be great for kids and pickier eaters, or just someone who is tired of picking from an extensive menu and just wants something they know they’ll love.

We also wanted to note that this sandwich is only available from 9:30 AM to 11 AM, which is when most Disney breakfast ends, so if this sounds like something you’ll want, make sure you grab it easily enough.
