Hollywood Studios has been going through a major transformation with new lands and areas coming to the park. One I’m most excited about is the Walt Disney Studios area, which is replacing Animation Courtyard and Star Wars: Launch Bay.

Disney just dropped new details (including an opening timeline), and y’all, is it too early to already book a trip?
Later in the summer, The Magic of Disney Animation will open, which is where most of the fun will happen. Just like in Once Upon a Studio, animated characters will come to life and leap from their portraits.

“Off the Page!” is a collaboration between Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering, where you can meet characters across six unique departments from the animation studio:
- Story
- Layout
- Hand-Drawn Animation
- Computer Animation
- Lighting
- Effects
These character meet and greet experiences sound super unique, like how you can meet Mulan in the Story department, posing with an oversized storyboard panel. In the Layout department, Rapunzel’s scene is inspired by a multiplane camera. If you align your photo just right, you’ll be able to see layers of background and painted cells coming together like magic.

A Disney Jr. show will also be coming to the area, which is officially called “Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!” and will debut this summer. There will be upbeat tunes where you can dance with Mickey and Minnie as they embark on a road trip to find their pals, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto, for a party. If this show sounds familiar, that’s because it was over at Disneyland Resort in California!

You can’t forget about the Drawn to Wonderland playground, inspired by Mary Blair’s original concept art of Alice in Wonderland. This is where you’ll find me all day!
