Traveling through the Orlando International Airport this holiday season is changing, and you are going to want to be aware!

Orlando International Airport
We all know that traveling during the holiday season can present its fair share of challenges, and preparation can go a long way. MCO just announced a major change that could throw a wrench into how quickly you get around the airport.
We’ve all been there, rushing through the Orlando International Airport trying to catch a tram. Travelers have had their complaints when it comes to the trams (us included). Sometimes they’re there waiting for you, and other times you’re stuck waiting an eternity. Well, it looks like a change is coming!

MCO Airport Security
Starting next month, the airport will begin replacing its trams. The positive: The trams will finally be getting a replacement. The negative: It’s happening right in the middle of the busiest time of the year!

Baggage claim at MCO!
Orlando International Airport is alerting travelers about potential changes and delays as it begins a major project to replace the trams that shuttle passengers to select airline terminals, according to News 6. The work will officially begin on December 3rd. The project will replace the vehicles that transport passengers between gates 70–129 and Terminals A and B. This may impact passengers flying with Air Canada, Avelo Airlines, Delta, Frontier Airlines, LATAM, Southwest, and Virgin Atlantic.

Get ready for a lengthy time range, as the project is estimated to take around 2 years to complete. Once work begins on the first side, only one tram will be kept in operation, rather than the two. Don’t worry too much, as shuttle buses will operate around the clock as a transportation option between the gates and terminals.

Orlando International Airport
It’s recommended that you give yourself an extra 30 minutes at Orlando Airport because of this transportation project. Is it inconvenient? Absolutely! Is it long overdue? Also, yes! The old trams were getting to the point where they just weren’t cutting it anymore. Airport officials have said that the new trams will be more reliable, eco-friendly, and faster.

AJ and Team,
Your team is awesome and advice has improved every Disney World trip for our family.
I love the rides, but motion sickness well has changed us no roll coaster are in our plan. I rode many in past so I don’t feel like I am missing out. We love people mover ride, slower classic rides Dumbo, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh, and all the shows. Less wait time in line, is a win.
We only like Epcot during Art festival, have not been to other festivals yet. Hollywood Studios means just Star Wars and Villians, food issues due my allergies. We left at 2pm, rode skyliner to Caribbean Beach Resort. Everything was great, low crowds and less than 20 minutes for all rides and shows. We ate the best meal at the lounge. I went to bar to ask about my food allergy options. Immediately the chef and waitress came over to talk to us. They both asked about our day so far. It was an amazing day, low crowds, 20 minutes or less ride times, and we were done by 2 pm. We saw all characters, pictures, rides and tried some new food. Some of the food epic fail for me, which part of reason we left early. Now, because I have food allergies we eat off time, not main meal times which makes a difference too. The chef and waitress both apologized for food fails due food allergies at Parks. Chef Mark said he make me a great meal and it was the best. Best bacon cheese burger and juicy burgers and apple slices. We then took free bus to Disney Springs for Dole Whip, shopping, and movie.
Disney World and Disney Springs Magic is different for everyone. My husband and I love time together, easy rides, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Dole Whip, Mickey Sundae, photos, star wars, and villains. Yes, we definitely submitted employee compliments. We will definitely return to the resort lounge to eat again. Taste is subjective and you like what you like! Your trip, your way, your money, and time spent for an amazing day makes the best vacation.
We are headed to our first Mickey Christmas party soon, we are all super excited. Yes, I have my DBF guides read and videos watched as we prepare for each trip. AJ and team, consider an annual subscription for your guide books? I sign up for that, be purchasing my next set again about week.
A huge Thank you to AJ and your team every time because your advice improves every vacation at Disney World. Your part the Disney World Magic for my family of Disney Adults!
