The holiday season is about to arrive at Disney World, and we can already feel the excitement – and the “snoap” – in the air!
I’ve been visiting Walt Disney World for over 30 years, and during that time I’ve watched the holiday season surpass even summer vacation and spring break to become the most popular time of year to visit the ”Most Magical Place on Earth.” This is mainly due to the massive amount of effort Disney has put into holiday decorations, treats, exclusives, and other special events, and it all begins at the Magic Kingdom.
SNOAP
When talking about our favorite things about the holiday season at the Magic Kingdom, we have to start with “snoap.” What’s snoap, you ask? Well…
That’s right, Disney uses “snoap” — the name colloquially given to the non-toxic soapy liquid concoction that Disney runs through a machine — to make it SNOW at the Magic Kingdom!
Disney’s faux snow is a very convincing effect, and really puts the final touch in transforming Main Street U.S.A. into a winter wonderland, even in Central Florida.
We have to warn you, though — it does NOT appear all of the time. You can typically only encounter snoap during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, so it’ll cost you a pretty penny to see it on Main Street. Don’t want to pay for the extra ticket? Disney Springs also has snoap in the Town Center area every half hour after sundown!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event that allows you to get in the park after hours with exclusive snacks, entertainment, complimentary cocoa, rare character interactions, and low wait times for popular rides. It’s a fantastic event if you’re looking for something new to try at Disney World, and it’s perfect for the entire family.

Peppermint Brownie Sundae and Other Seasonal Snacks
From snoap to snacks, the Christmas season features dozens of delicious holiday-themed treats across the resort. One of our recent favorites at the Magic Kingdom is the Peppermint Brownie Sundae.
Available at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, the decadent sundae features a house-baked brownie topped with peppermint ice cream, hot fudge, and chocolate granola with candy cane pieces.
We found the ice cream to be sweet and not too minty. Sometimes mint treats can taste like toothpaste, and we sighed with relief when that was not the case! The brownie was heavy on the fudge in a good way, and the whole thing was perfect for those with a Christmas sweet tooth.
3 of Our Favorite Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Snacks Are Back — Here’s Our Full Review
Moving from one snack to another, we have to talk about the Holiday Cookie Popcorn! During its debut year, this festive mix featured caramel popcorn layered with M&Ms, crushed ginger snap cookies, marshmallows, and milk chocolate drizzle.
The caramel and chocolate flavors blended really well together, and the huge chunks of ginger snaps make the whole thing taste like the ultimate Christmasy treat. A word of warning, though, if you’re not a fan of ginger snaps, you may not enjoy it quite as much.
It’s important to note that not all of the holiday snacks are available all day long. When they are announced, Disney will note if each item is available during the day, during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ONLY, or both. Pay attention to that when making your list so you can avoid disappointment! Click here for the full breakdown in 2025.
23 Snacks MISSING from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World in 2025
Dressed in their Holiday Best
What’s better than seeing all your favorite Disney characters? Seeing them dressed in their Christmas best attire!
There’s Mickey and Minnie, and, of course, Santa Claus! Jolly Ole’ St. Nick himself can be found for meet and greets in Storybook Circus, and you’ll also see him in the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade!
To find meet and greet times for characters, check the My Disney Experience app. It is constantly being updated with the latest information and is the most reliable source.
Our favorite, though? Sandy Claws!! You can meet Jack Skellington in his Santa attire with Sally, and it’ll probably be in your top three best things you did during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
The characters in holiday attire are typically exclusive to the Christmas Party; however, you may catch them in the parks closer to Christmas Day. It’s not guaranteed or planned all of the time, so keep your eyes peeled!

Popular Attraction Overlay
In addition to characters, treats, and ambiance, one of the most popular rides in Magic Kingdom gets into the holiday spirit. For example, the World Famous Jungle Cruise transforms into the Jingle Cruise, which is packed with enough Christmas buns to fill an elephant’s stocking.
This overlay typically starts in early November and ends in early January, so enjoy the two months it is around. Expect high wait times, too — it’s very popular! You can also book a Lightning Lane return time via Lightning Lane Multi Pass if you don’t want to stand in that line.
