Just a few years after their much-ballyhooed arrival in Florida, Kroger has announced that it’s closing their three eCommerce facilities in the state this coming January. In turn, the company will also be halting grocery delivery services in Florida as of February 1st.
The closures will see 943 employees in Groveland, 234 in Tampa, 181 in Jacksonville and 53 in Rockledge lose their jobs by February 1st, 2026, and will result in “impairment and related charges” of roughly $2.6 billion in the third quarter 2025 because of “the automated fulfillment network not meeting financial expectations.”
The end of Kroger’s delivery service in Florida will also have an effect on Walt Disney World guests who’ve used the service to have groceries and other essentials to their resort while staying on property. However, there is an alternative:
Amazon Fresh
Like Kroger, the massive e-tailer’s delivery service will drop deliveries off at Bell Services at a given Disney resort, where they keep items cold if needed.
- Some further notes on the service if you’ve never used it before:
- $9.95 fee under $50, $6.95 over $50, FREE over $100
- Amazon Basics/Amazon Grocery brands are competitively priced vs third-party brands.
- Naturally, given the name, Amazon offers FRESH food options, including cut-up fruit, cheese, and cracker platters, etc.
- Same-day delivery is available, as is a reserved window of up to 3 days.

Too bad the on side Disney store is so expensive and limited. You can’t afford to eat at the restaurants. Will start eating off the children’s menu, the meals are just getting too expensive for what you actually eat. Disney just does not care about the cost to families.
