Getting ready to book your flight to Disney World? A new option is about to join the market!
When traveling to Disney World, people most often fly into the Orlando International Airport (MCO). MCO is home to several airlines and hundreds (sometimes thousands) of flights per day. Now, JetBlue Airways is expanding its options for flights to the Orlando airport!
The Orlando Business Journal reports that JetBlue Airways is now adding more nonstop flights to upstate New York as part of a push to connect Florida markets with the Northeast. According to a news release, the airline will begin this new route from MCO to Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) on March 26th, 2026.
The flight will be offered five days a week and aims to serve New Yorkers who wish to vacation in Orlando. JetBlue is a New York-based airline, so the connection makes sense. “Orlando is one of the most popular destinations for Upstate New Yorkers, and this new route gives customers an easy way to get to the sunshine, theme parks, and all the attractions Central Florida has to offer,” said JetBlue Vice President Dave Jehn.
Why is this relevant? Well, Visit Florida found in a 2024 report that approximately 8.7% of visitors to Florida were from New York, making the state only second on the list behind Georgia. In keeping with this, JetBlue is also getting ready to introduce flights from Daytona Beach and Vero Beach to JFK, as well as flights from Long Island to Tampa and Fort Myers. These are just a few of their options in an expanded lineup between Florida and New York.
We’ll be interested to see how these new flights affect the Orlando International Airport in 2026, so we’ll be on the lookout for any updates.
