The name Bob Iger should ring a bell amongst Disney fans, as he’s the current CEO of the Walt Disney Company. Iger has been with the company for a long time, serving as CEO from 2005 to 2020 before returning again in 2022. With all those years under his belt and everything he’s done with the company for nearly two decades, he has a lot to share. Which is why we’re so excited about him appearing on The Rest Is History Podcast!
It looks like we’ll be getting a history lesson from Disney’s CEO, Iger, who recently appeared on the podcast The Rest is History. The podcast claims to be the most popular history podcast, with roughly 20 million monthly downloads, according to Deadline.

Bob Iger will be joining hosts Tom Holland (no, not Spider-Man) and Dominic Sandbrook in a two-part video special about Walt Disney’s legacy! Together, they will tour around Disneyland Park, breaking down Walt’s legacy as an animator and film producer, along with the massive cultural impact his theme park has had. That’s not all, as it was also teased that the Disney CEO will “offer up reflections on his own time at Disney ahead of his planned exit in 2026.” Crazy to think he’ll be leaving so soon!

Episode one, ‘Walt Disney: The Great American Storyteller,’ aired on November 3rd, 2025. The second episode will air on November 6th, 2025, exploring the “creation and enduring popularity of Disneyland.” Then, on November 7th, the podcast will release the video of the interview. So, a lot is coming this week with Bob Iger and Disney history!

It was also teased that a “mini-documentary in which Iger gives Sandbrook and Holland a private historical tour of the Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland Park” will be coming. We’re excited to listen in and watch these episodes. One of the hosts, Tom Holland, mentioned, “Whenever we investigate a subject, we always want to do more – we’re frustrated we can’t carry on.” He continued to say, “With Walt Disney, we thought it only right to come to Disney – to Disneyland itself. Walt Disney, more than any other figure, embodies twentieth-century American culture, and Disneyland is a remarkable creation – one of the most influential architectural works of the mid-20th century.”

From episodes of the podcast to an interview, there is so much that we’ll be getting to hear from the CEO of the company we all know and love. Disney has seen its fair share of ups and downs, so it’ll be cool to get an idea of where Bob is at with everything, while sharing the history of the company.
