The time has almost come to step aboard the newest Disney Cruise Line ship, and there aren’t words to describe how much we’re looking forward to it!
The Disney Destiny is Disney’s newest cruise ship (the Disney Adventure would have been right behind it in December 2025, but the maiden voyage has now been delayed to March 10th, 2026), and it’s getting ready to set sail for its maiden voyage from Port Canaveral on November 20th. Ahead of that exciting day, though, it has to first arrive in Port Canaveral, and we’re thrilled to say that that day is TODAY!
Today, November 2nd, 2025, the Disney Destiny has officially arrived at Port Canaveral for a special ceremony before it continues on to Fort Lauderdale, where it will dock for all its voyages.
There she is coming in! We got to hear all of the different horns, including “Cruella de Vil,” “it’s a small world,” “A Pirate’s Life for Me,” “Grim Grinning Ghosts,” “Be Our Guest,” a song from Star Wars, and “Hakuna Matata.”

Our favorite was “I Can Go the Distance,” which, along with “Cruella de Vil,” is the new one for the ship. Even Bruno got a shoutout!

Okay, you have to admit that’s pretty cool!

Every second we’re spending on board just makes us even more excited to set sail.
Say hi to Superhero Minnie! She’s one of the icons of the ship, and we have a feeling she’s going to be one of the busiest meet and greets.
Gorgeous! Just look at the way she lights up the sky.
The Disney Destiny will offer 4 and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, during her inaugural sailing season, which will also include stops at one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s destinations — Castaway Cay and the new Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. However, from Summer 2026 and into 2027, the ship will offer 3 to 7-night cruises to The Bahamas as well as the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
For the first time ever, guests will need to choose between Heroes and Villains onboard, and you’ll find decorations, theming elements, and experiences dedicated to both your favorite Disney Heroes and Villains, so no matter which you choose, you’ll have lots to do! We know that we’ll see characters from The Lion King, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, and Hercules, just to name a few. When talking about the theme of the ship, Disney said that Imagineers were “inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose.”
You’ll find Spider-Man on the stern of the ship, Black Panther in the Grand Hall, and the three rotational dining restaurants are none other than Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, Worlds of Marvel, and 1923. There are incredible lounges to explore, themed to Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Cruella de Vil, and Doctor Strange.
There truly is so much to explore on this new ship, some of which we recognize from other ships in this class (the Disney Treasure and Disney Wish), but there are plenty of totally new experiences to check out as well. We’ll be setting sail on the inaugural sailing in just a few weeks and will be bringing you every single tidbit of news to help you feel prepared for your upcoming trip.
