REVIEW: If Eating a Lightning McQueen Cheese Sandwich Isn't Every Disney Fan's Dream, I Don't Know What Is

Four words, dear Disney fans: Lightning McQueen cheese sandwich. Need we say more? Does anyone else spend an absurd amount of time thinking about both Disney AND food? It’s all we do around here (good thing we work at a place called Disney FOOD Blog, right?!). Well, if you, too, like the sound of a Lightning McQueen cheese sandwich, you’ve come to the right place. We know where to get one!

Meet the Croque McQueen!

This adorable little treat is sold over at Disneyland Paris, where we spent most of our time exploring the parks and snacking around Paris. Dream vacation, right? Well, if you’re planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, you might be tempted to try a Croque Monsieur. But before you make a beeline to Main Street, consider the Croque McQueen instead.

Over at Walt Disney Studios Park in the Worlds of Pixar, there is a cute little snack stand called the Laugh ‘N’ Go! Here, you’ll find a few little ice cream treats and, more importantly, the Croque McQueen for 8,5 euros. It’s a ham and La Vache qui rit (a.k.a. The Laughing Cow) melted cheese sandwich, toasted to order “in a flash.” (Hehe, good one, Disney!)

This is a great little savory snack. Bread? Loved. Cheese? Loved. What’s not to enjoy here?! Honestly, though, we can’t sit here and tell you that this was the best Croque Monsieur we had the whole time we were in Paris. It’s Paris, duh. That said, this is the perfect sandwich for kids. You’re getting a sandwich with Lightning McQueen printed on it — that’s a pretty cool treat if you ask us.

It’s a pretty thin sandwich, as you can see, and most adults would probably agree that this is “just okay.” Don’t expect this to fill you up — there’s a reason we’re calling this a snack, not lunch. That said, this was served very fresh and hot, so they aren’t kidding when they advertise it as toasted to order “in a flash.”

Disneyland Paris has a lot of fun snacks, but we’ll admit that, in some cases, the appearance is more appealing than the flavor. We are happy to report, though, that the Croque McQueen is worth buying! That warm, toasted bread pairs nicely with the cheese, and you really can’t go wrong with a cheese sandwich.
