Hollywood Studios is getting back to its roots! The park is undergoing quite a transformation by adding monsters, bringing back animation, and more.

Hi Ariel!

As the park works away at its brand-new look and atmosphere, a very famous character has found a new home! If you want to be where the people are, and more specifically, Ariel — you need to read this. 

Ariel from the Live-Action Little Mermaid movie has found a new home in Hollywood Studios! Ariel can now be found searching for thingamabobs near the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular in Echo Lake.

She’s near Indiana Jones!

Ariel’s times can be found in the My Disney Experience app, and if you’re having trouble finding her, there’s a map on the app. Ariel is located outdoors, so if it’s raining or bad weather is on the way, her meet and greet might be moved or canceled.

Previously, she was meeting inside Walt Disney Presents, which is indoors, so the weather was never an issue. Disney has implied that this is a temporary change because they wrote online, “Meet Ariel at Walt Disney Presents will be temporarily unavailable beginning October 28. Ariel will be greeting guests at Echo Lake, near 50’s Prime Time Cafe.”

It’s unclear why the change has happened, but we have a few guesses! Animation Courtyard is currently undergoing a complete transformation to become The Walt Disney Studios, inspired by the film studios in Burbank. The new area of the park will include “The Magic of Disney Animation,” which is inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios and the Roy E. Disney Animation Building. The new building will see characters come to life to take over the studio and create fun adventures!

They’re also adding the Drawn to Wonderland playground, a new Disney Jr. Show, and more. Walt Disney Presents isn’t included in the changes, but it is located in the Animation Courtyard. While there’s no scheduled maintenance for it, it is possible that the noise from demolition could impact guests.

She even gave us a twirl!

Ariel’s new location is a bit more visible and not as tucked away as her previous spot, so hopefully more guests will get to swim by and say hi! You know we just had to stop by and see how she was!
