I grew up going to Disneyland, and when I moved to Orlando, Disney World became my home park. I couldn’t believe anything could get more magical. Well, that was true until I went on my first Disney Cruise. It took everything you know and love about the parks to the next level with incredible food, character interactions, entertainment, and more.
There are two new Disney Cruise Line ships coming soon, including the Disney Destiny, which sets sail in November 2025 out of Florida, and the Disney Adventure, which sets sail out of Singapore in March 2026. The Disney Adventure will be the first ship to have a castle onboard, and we just got a new look that is making me look up flights to Singapore and book PTO.
The storybook castle is three decks tall and is officially installed on the Disney Adventure. It’s located in the Imagination Garden, which is the heart of the ship. “The art piece is a first-of-its-kind in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, bringing guest-favorite fairytales to life.”
Disney Imagineering took inspiration from different castles from films and Disney Parks around the world. It’s meant to look like a paper-cutout style, like a pop-up storybook, inviting guests to step into their own story.
It also looks in elements of adventure and the ocean with “nods to timeless Disney storytelling.” There’s a wave pattern surrounding the frame to celebrate the first Disney castle at sea. There’s even a Disney family crest, which is featured on every Disney Parks castle around the world.
The three-panel stained-glass window features various Disney heroines and princesses. There are also natural elements, including the water, sky, and the heart of Te Fiti from Moana. We love that there’s a sun, earth, and the Sundrop flower from Tangled, as well as the glistening ice and wind from Frozen, too.
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for hidden details that pay tribute to other Disney traditions. There’s a hidden Mickey, too! The base of the storybook castle is a waterfall meant to represent the Walt Disney Pictures castle that appears before every Disney movie.
