EPCOT is home to so many restaurants, and once you throw in festival booths, it’s easy to get overwhelmed on where to choose. That’s why we’re here — we’ve eaten at every single restaurant at Disney World (and every food booth at EPCOT festivals) and we have some opinions on where you should eat.
We went to Lotus Blossom Cafe at the China Pavilion in EPCOT, and you’re coming with us! This quick-service restaurant is there all year round, ready to serve your favorite Chinese take-out staples, all while you travel the World Showcase.
Atmosphere
Lotus Blossom Cafe is just to the left when you enter, past the Nine Dragons Restaurant. There is no mobile ordering available at this quick-service restaurant, but you can place your order directly at the counter and then pick it up from the back counter.
There’s a covered seating area with tables, chairs, and benches, offering great sun coverage during the hotter months. There are so many food booths during EPCOT festivals, and you might be stopping at those limited-time offerings during your visit, but if you come when there isn’t a festival or are looking for some of your favorites, Lotus Blossom Cafe can be great. It’s open from 11 AM to 9 PM, which can be great for a late-night snack.
Menu
The restaurant offers a variety of options, including appetizers, entrees, kids’ meals, desserts, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Many of these items you’ll be familiar with from your local Chinese take-out spot, like Pork Egg Rolls, Chicken Pot Stickers, Orange Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef, and Stir-Fried Noodles. Kids’ options include Sweet and Sour Chicken, too, and there’s Caramel-Ginger Ice Cream and Lychee Ice Cream. They offer Coca-Cola fountain drinks, Black and Green Iced Tea, and Lychee Tea. You can’t forget about the Plum Wine!
That menu sounds great — let’s eat!
Eats
We started with the Chicken Pot Stickers for $7.35
Starting us off, these weren’t quite our favorite. They have a soft exterior with a bit of crispiness from being pan-fried, and while there is a good amount of filling inside, it feels a bit bland. We highly recommend dipping them in some of the available sauces to add more flavor. They reminded us of potstickers from the frozen food section of the grocery store, and while this isn’t a bad thing, they’re not going to be the greatest potstickers you’ve ever had.
Then we had the Mongolian Beef Noodle Combo for $15.75. This is served with a pork egg roll and a fortune cookie.
The beef in the dish was fairly tender and easy to chew, with a good amount of it included. It had a light, sweet sauce, similar to teriyaki sauce. The noodles were tender, mixed with veggies, and tasted like the chow mein noodles you can grab at Panda Express. The egg roll, which is also served with the Orange Chicken Combo, has a crispy outside and is filled with meat and veggies, but it was nothing to write home about.
After that, we had the Orange Chicken Combo for $14.95. This dish is also served with a pork egg roll and a fortune cookie.
Admittedly, we’re a bit of a sucker for orange chicken, and this was our favorite of the savory dishes we had. The chicken is coated in a crispy coating and then tossed in the sweet orange sauce. The ratio of breading to chicken was good, and there was a decent amount of meat served with it. The rice was slightly dry, but once we mixed in some of the orange chicken sauce, it was pretty tasty!
We rounded off our meal with Lychee Ice Cream for $5.35.
We were pretty impressed by this ice cream! It tasted like vanilla ice cream with a hint of sweet lychee. It also had tiny chunks of the lychee intermixed, which added a nice texture and additional taste. While we’re used to taking a bunch of pictures of our food before we dive in, the ice cream still held up well and came very frozen, so if you eat it after grabbing it, it will be the perfect consistency.
Nosh or Not
You should stop by Lotus Blossom Cafe if…
- You’re looking for a quick meal with familiar favorites
- You have picky eaters
- You love Chinese takeout and want to try another version
This might be a skip if…
- An EPCOT festival is going on, and food booths sound more interesting
- You prefer to try foods with a more unique flavor profile
- You like a longer meal where you can sit inside
Overall
Lotus Blossom Cafe is great if you’re looking for something familiar and consistent. While we would recommend better restaurants throughout the World Showcase, sometimes you need something that you know you’ll love because not every dish needs to be an adventure. If you have picky eaters, this might be a great place to stop, and don’t forget to add that delicious lychee ice cream!

Bland, overcooked, dried out, and chewy. Have never tried them again.
Lotus Blossom is a must for lunch every trip, because my son loves the orange chicken there. While the menu has changed over the years, one thing that is reliable and good is their hot oolong tea, which I always order. The area is kept clean, and because I walk with a cane /ride a scooter, a CM there always rushes to carry my tray and fetch forks for me, much appreciated. Is it gourmet? No, but on a cool fall or early winter day, a plate of familiar hot food for lunch at Lotus Blossom can satisfy everyone, before you move on to something more out there for dinner.
