Happy Halloween, ghouls and goblins! Yes, spooky season will be over before you know it, but if you’re like us, and you’re trying to get EVERY LAST OUNCE of spookiness out of life before everything turns red and green for the holidays, we’ve got a heads up for you.
If you’re familiar with Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes at Downtown Disney in Disneyland, you’re probably familiar with the restaurant’s CrazyShakes, which are these over-the-top shakes you can order. Well, believe it or not, this restaurant is doing a FLIGHT of shakes for Halloween (we…can’t…even), and we just HAD to try it for ourselves.
Meet the Trick or Treat Shake Flight. For $25, you get three miniature CrazyShakes, including a Kit Kat Shake, a Skittles Shake, and a Sweet and Salty Shake. Three shakes. We are SO going for it.
So let’s talk about the Kit Kat Shake. It’s got a chocolate frosted rim rolled in crushed chocolate candies, topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. It really tastes like a Kit Kat with some chocolate drizzle and whipped cream added for good measure. It’s also a very Instagrammable shake, although we thought this was the least creative of the shakes, at least in flavor. But if you love Kit Kats, you HAVE to get it, right?
We were really interested (and maybe a little scared) when it came to the Skittles Shake. This could go either way with its vanilla frosted rim in mini skittles and candy clusters, topped with whipped cream, strawberry drizzle, and a cherry. You get PLENTY of candy on this one, so you’ll be tasting the rainbow, as well as some gummy clusters and Nerds. The shake itself is a blend of vanilla and strawberry, so we’ll say this is the most kid-friendly of the three in the flight. The textures, though, really sold this one for us. But it’s also FULL of flavor.
Finally, the Sweet and Salty Shake is a peanut butter shake with a chocolate and peanut butter frosted rim rolled in M&Ms, topped with pretzel rods, peanut butter cups, and caramel and chocolate sauce. Are we in peanut butter and chocolate heaven? This baby tastes like a liquified Reese’s, which, we think is what joy tastes like. The M&Ms add additional chocolate flavor, and then there’s the saltiness from the pretzel rods. This baby is creative and it DELIVERS.
Okay, so a word of warning…this shake flight is, well, it’s a LOT of sugar, especially with that additional frosting on the rim of each one. If you’re going to try this, we would recommend you invite some friends along. However, we highly recommend the flight because all of these shakes live up to their names.
