Have you ever wanted to just live in the Disney magic? Well, you can’t move into Disney World (believe us, we would if we could), but you can move into a Disney community.
Disney has officially launched its Storyliving community, Cotino, in Rancho Mirage, California, and it’s a chance to buy a house in a neighborhood completely designed by Disney. That means you get all those nice Disney touches, as well as the home you’ve dreamed of. Well, if you’re curious about Cotino, we’ve got a FIRST LOOK to share with you.
We were invited to attend a media preview of Cotino, and it is way more than just a neighborhood. It also has parks, walking trails, sand beaches, activities, and a voluntary Artisan Club. One thing we noticed is that the community still seems to be in development (about half of it, at least). It’s also very spread out. We checked in at the Artisan Club for the event.
Residents of Cotino have access to all kinds of special programs and excursions, as well as other activities included with their resident fees. There’s also a lot of recreational activity available on the water, like paddleboarding, paddle boats, kayaks, water yoga, and more.
We were also invited to have lunch at Architect’s Fork, a Cotino restaurant. The restaurant offers an elevated experience with seasonal items, as well as Disney-inspired eats like Walt’s chili and the Hollywood Brown Derby’s Cobb Salad. Both the food and wines will take inspiration from California. The restaurant is only open to members from 8 AM to 8 PM.
The restaurant “is a celebration of design, creativity, and Disney heritage.” Here, every wall tells a story with original concept art, technical drawings, and archival pieces from Walt Disney Imagineering.
You’ll find architectural drawings from the mid-century on the walls.
The chandeliers in the restaurant are made up of pens preferred by architects. You’ll find all kinds of subtle storytelling throughout the space.
The restaurant overlooks Cotino Bay.
We even got a sneak peek at some of the food the restaurant will be serving. The menu will include things like a Falafel Bowl, Steak and Frites…
…Buccatini Bolognese, Citrus Burrata, and more.
We also visited Plot Twist, the Artisan Club’s casual restaurant and bar, complete with outside sofas and chairs to lounge away with a cocktail and snacks.
The menu features a good variety of cocktails…
…as well as beer and other beverages.
Next, we got busy and took a Mixology Course there!
Time for the showstopper. What really impressed us was the Parr House. Yes, PARR House, as in The Incredibles. And here we are without our super suit!
Dare we say this house is…well…INCREDIBLE? This two-story house is a multi-functional space for Artisan Club members to attend events, celebrate milestones, and even have an occasional overnight stay (okay, we’re ready to sign up!).
It’s also a gathering space for members and their guests that includes spaces for dining, although we’re OBSESSED with this Incredibles-themed kitchen.
Don’t forget to grab a bowl of Sugar Bombs!
Seriously, we love all the little details sprinkled throughout the house.
Did we already mention that members can even have overnight stays here?
Okay, we’re sold. When can we move in? If only, right?
Houses in Cotino start at the mid-$1 million price range, so we might not be moving in any time soon, but to those who do get to call Cotino home, you’re in for a real treat.
Stay tuned to DFB for more.
