Here at DFB, we’ve always got our eyes on Amazon to track the newest and coolest offerings on the site! Growing up, my neighbors across the street had a BASEMENT FULL of LEGOs, and I’ve been chasing that dream my whole life!
If you’re looking to build (no, I can NEVER resist making that pun) out your LEGO collection, 10 NEW sets just dropped on Amazon, right in time for holiday shopping!
While all of these sets are pretty amazing in my opinion, I’ve been challenged to RANK them. So, I’m taking into account the overall aesthetic, how fun they look to build, and how useful they are. Let’s gooooooo!
10. Christmas Candle
We’ll start with this LEGO Christmas Candle. Those of you who love Grandmacore — this one’s for you! It reminds me of my grandmother’s Christmas table centerpiece, but I think it would also look swell on a fireplace mantle.
Check out those pine needles! This one is heavy on the details, and I’m personally obsessed with those gold snowflakes. It has 433-pieces and builds into a 7.1-inch H x 8.3-inch W x 9.4-inch candle display, including the candle ring. What’s a candle ring? It’s the fake floral stuff that goes around a candle. (Wait, does knowing that make me old?)
I REALLY like this one, and I feel bad about making it No. 10. I’m just putting that holiday stuff there since you can really only display it a few weeks a year. (Unless you live in a Christmas House, and that’s cool. You do you.)
9. Santa’s Delivery Truck
From Grandmacore to INSANELY ADORABLE, this 224-piece LEGO set creates an fun delivery truck, complete with an elf driver and a tree on top! With the lower number of pieces, this looks like a fun set to put together with the kiddos in your life. I’m guessing it will come together in a hour or two.
The truck opens to reveal Christmas presents inside the truck. It also includes a special letter to Santa (A LETTER TO SANTA!!!), Santa’s sack, and a colorful sticker sheet. My question with these Christmas-themed sets, though, is: Is this an appropriate Christmas gift or not? You receive it and than have to put it away for a year (unless you’ve got that Christmas House we talked about — it’s looking better all the time). Maybe we should all be exchanging stuff like this at Thanksgiving?
8. LEGO City Advent Calendar
YOU KNEW THIS WAS GONNA BE HERE!!! Of course, there is a LEGO Advent Calendar. (I mean…thank goodness!)
December is EXHAUSTING. Advent calendars are a tiny, daily hit of dopamine we all need to deal with the shopping and the parties and the baking and the kids — especially in that final week before Christmas when they’re HOME.FROM.SCHOOL.
This 186-piece Advent Calendar counts down to Christmas with 24 days’ worth of surprises, including Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus minifigures, minifigures of other characters wearing Christmas sweaters, as well as a slew of mini models and accessories, including mini-vehicles and toys.
Listen — a little tip from me to you, though: If you get this and tell your kid you’ll do the Advent Calendar with him every day, make sure you SET BOUNDARIES about how early he’s allowed to wake you up to build said Advent Calendar window’s little delight for the day. TRUST.
7. Minecraft Advent Calendar
If there’s one thing I learned from Jack Black this year, it’s that people are still really into Minecraft. Chicken Jockey!
So, I submit for your consideration this LEGO Minecraft Advent Calendar! This 300-piece set counts down to Christmas with 24 days’ worth of surprises themed to the popular video game franchise.
Pieces include mini figures of Alex, Steve, a creeper, drowned, stray, snow golem, zombie and a Santa villager (WHARRRRR????), all with accessories and festive touches that can be combined with a fold-out playmat that provides the perfect backdrop for imaginary gaming adventures.
However: again with the waking-up boundaries.
6. Harry Potter Room of Requirement
Now, I can’t make any promises, but rumor has it that if you walk by the Room of Requirement three times while concentrating hard, the room turns into whatever you want it to be.
I’m pretty sure this LEGO Room of Requirement won’t change form, but it’ll still be fun building it and adding to your Harry Potter LEGO collection…(and ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, MUGGLE). This is a 202-piece set that includes a Neville Longbottom minifigure (NATCH) as well as racks of ancient items, 2 hammocks, benches, a chimney, and a portrait of Harry Potter and friends.
This is itching all of my tiny things scratches I will tell you that.
5. Krusty Burger
I cannot believe that The Simpsons have been around for more than 35 years. How OLD are we?!? ANYWAY, MOVING ON.
And with more than 1.600 pieces…this might feel like it takes 35 years to build!
But I know that there are plenty of fans out there ready to put this one on their LEGO shelves. (LEGO shelves are a thing, right? It’s not just me? Please say it’s not just me!)
The set includes a Krusty Burger restaurant, pole sign, Homer’s clown car and Homer, Bart and Lisa Simpson, Farmer Krusty, Sideshow Bob, Squeaky Voiced Teen (my personal minifig) and Officer Lou minifigures. You can even lift off the roof and fold out the Krusty Burger model to access a highly detailed interior with a kitchen, dining area and restroom.
4. Speed Champions Lightning McQueen
If you’re looking for an easier build, let me introduce you to this new Lightning McQueen set that’s out in honor of the 20th anniversary of Cars. Y’all — this would have been ALL up in my haus when my kid was smol.
This one has just 202 pieces, and features Lightning built out in full detail, including his lightning bolt, his headlight stickers, the number 95, Rust-Eze sponsor logo, Lightyear logos imprinted on the tires, and a detailed undercarriage. The only issue? It’s only available for preorder now, and isn’t being released until June of 2026. So in other words, when you gift it for Christmas it’ll be one of those computer print-out pictures tucked into the little box.
3. Glinda’s Wedding
THIS DEEP CUUUUUUT!!!! Remember the scene last fall — when every brand imaginable did a collab with Wicked? Well, if you aren’t a Wicked fan, I’m sorry to report that the second Wicked movie (yes, the story is being released in two parts) is coming out in November, and you’re about to see another wave of Wicked-themed products landing in stores.
Fortunately for this LEGO set, I AM a Wicked fan, so it’s ranking way up there near the top! You get to help Glinda prepare for her wedding in this set that is built for play, rather than just display. If you have a mini-Wicked fan, I’ve got a plan for you! This is the set you need to rope them into your LEGO addiction so you have someone else to blame for all the LEGO sets you buy.
It has 476 pieces and includes 2 large, posable LEGO butterflies that pull apart to reveal a detailed wedding scene with authentic movie details, a wedding cake and heart-shaped invitation, a bouquet from Fiyero, and a facial expression for Glinda that changes “from happy to horrified” as animal figures storm the festive scene. Um, eek?
2. Thing’s Apartment
If you’re a fan of the Netflix’s Wednesday, you’ll understand why I love how this set channels Nevermore Academy’s gothic weirdness! magine you’re lugging around a heavy trunk — except this one doesn’t contain your dirty laundry, it is the home of Thing and his secret quarters. You even get an Enid Sinclair minidoll, so you can stage those tension-filled roommate scenes — Will she try to get Wednesday to talk, or will Wednesday lunge off a cliff again? (Just kidding. Kind of.)
The first of two Wednesday sets on our list, this 828-piece set transforms from a trunk into the Thing’s apartment, complete with a bed, chair, fashionable hat, and watch, plus a posable Thing figure and, of course, Enid Sinclair. And closing the trunk turns it into stylish decor, so your living room doesn’t scream “I’m obsessed with a spooky TV show,” unless that’s what you want!
1. Morticia’s Cottage
If you’ve ever wondered where Morticia goes to brood, brew, or just sip a cup of something with a little morbidezza, this is it! The Morticia’s Cottage LEGO set opens up into a six-room, two-story modular cottage complete with a kitchen (for potion prep or perhaps soup with a side of shadows), a living room with a removable fireplace wall, a séance chamber (naturally!), a bathroom with swords (because one never knows when a duel might erupt), and a cozy upstairs bedroom. It even includes the Addams’ family car so your minidolls can cruise the haunted roads outside Nevermore.
The set brings in four key minidolls: Wednesday, Morticia, Lurch, and Bianca Barclay. You can stage a midnight séance with Wednesday staring stoically from the corner. The modular design lets you hinge open wings for play or snap it shut for haunting display.
So why does this one sit at No. 1 on our LEGO list? First, it’s a big build with 1,002 pieces of gothic delight. Second, its balance of playability and display is top notch: Parts open for storytelling, but the overall profile is elegant (in a spooky sort of way) when closed. Third, the detail here is just SO GOOD. Every room hints at mysteries, and it completely captures the show’s eerie aesthetic.
Now let’s say you’re buying one (or 10!) of these sets for someone for Christmas. We NEED you to see this — Brick Wrapping Paper is available, and it’s ADORBS.
You’ve gotta get this for your favorite LEGO lover! It’s available at Target — but not in stores (unfortunately since, um, I’m super bad about running out to grab wrapping paper at the last-minute), but we’re gonna resolve to plan early and order this right now! Right? Do it with me!
OK, LEGO fans, what do you think of the NEW sets, and our rankings? Would Wicked drop down your list? Do you think Christmas decor should have ranked higher? Let me know what you’re building in the comments!
