I’d be lying if I said tears weren’t shed when MuppetVision was given its final show date. While not everything was quickly forgotten, it’s hard not to feel excited for the new Muppet roller coaster in Hollywood Studios.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is being transformed into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets (can we all agree we’re just going to call it rock ‘n’?), and it’s coming in hot summer 2026. Disney released new concept art, and we’re going through all the details you won’t want to miss.
Here’s the new poster that dropped! It looks like an old music festival concert, which is pretty perfect for The Electric Mayhem.
If we look closer at the names and pictures, we see all six members of the band plus special guests, including Miss Piggy (she’s first, of course), Kermit the Frog, and The Great Gonzo! Gonzo wasn’t originally in any concept art, so we’re pretty thrilled he’s getting the recognition he deserves, especially as The Great Gonzo and not just Gonzo. Disney hasn’t said where he’ll be going in the ride, but we know that the pre-show will be getting an overhaul, so we could certainly see him pop up there.
Of course, it’s also possible that he might end up in the ride itself, though we’re less confident about that — which we’ll get to in a second.
This was the first concept art released, featuring The Electric Mayhem, Miss Piggy, and Kermit, but that’s all. We were so worried Gonzo didn’t make the cut, even though he had a role in MuppetVision.
On the new concept art, it also says “and more,” which means we can expect to see even more of our Muppet friends. We know Scooter and the penguin audio engineers will be there, and Scooter will be an audio-animatronic, but Disney has also teased that “he might not be the only Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure joining the attraction.” We hope the penguins from MuppetVision are getting their new job at G-Force Records.
Speaking of G-Force Records, the top of the new poster says G-Force Records, which we know is now being taken over by The Muppets. Scooter’s uncle is a real estate tycoon and the owner of the Muppet Theatre, but now he’s getting into recording. We’re always for a Muppet Easter egg! And yes, G-Force Records is from the Aerosmith version, but now that Scooter’s uncle bought it, it’s all Muppet themed.
We can’t help but wonder how big a ride overhaul this will really be at the end of the day, though. Disney announced that the Muppet version of the ride would debut in 2026, but they still haven’t announced when the ride will close. With 2025 drawing to an end, it’s clear that Disney doesn’t anticipate this retheme taking too much time. That has us worried that this will be more like an overlay rather than a full retheme, but we’ll wait and see what ends up happening.
For now, it mainly sounds like there will be updates to the pre-show and the overall theming, while introducing new characters. The ride itself — and the G-Force Records storyline — will largely remain the same. What we ARE interested in finding out, though, is which songs will be chosen to get covered by The Electric Mayhem. We can’t wait!
Disney has said that the Aerosmith version will be open through 2025, and the Muppet version is coming in summer 2026, so we’re expecting a quick turnaround. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more details about new attractions coming to Disney World.

What’s a Muppets reunion without a meet and greet from the Muppets themselves. Especially The Electric Mayhem. I wonder if everybody at Disney’s Hollywood Studios would like to do something special to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show next year. After all, The Muppets are a part of the Disney family
Take the upside down caddy out and replace w/mayheim-mobile at entrance? Who knows. Other than that, not for me. Don’t do dark coasters
I bet Gonzo will be on the front of the roller coaster cars, and shot out of a Cannon at the start….and you are flying through the ride with him.
The Rock N Rollercoaster should be left as is. Legends never die or get old. Aerosmith should remain. Disney is consistantly getting rid of things that don’t need to go. I think this is a huge mistake.
