There are so many new and exciting additions coming to Animal Kingdom!
One of the ones we’re most excited about is the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show coming to the Tree of Life Theatre! This new show will debut on November 7th, along with a new meet and greet with Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps just outside the Tree of Life area, but we’ve wondered for a while if there will be any previews for Annual Passholders or DVC members. Now, we finally have our answer!
It’s now been announced that Annual Passholders will be able to preview this new show on November 5th and 6th! To get access to this preview on both days, a Virtual Queue will be in place, and APs can join at 7 AM or 1 PM.
You must have a park pass reservation for Animal Kingdom on either/both days in order to get access to the Virtual Queue. However, something new is happening with this virtual queue — for BOTH drops, you do not need to be in a theme park to join the queue. This means you can be practically anywhere to join either queue, but you DO need a park pass.
This new show is in 4D, and you’ll use Carrot Vision 3D Glasses to join in on the Zoogether Day celebrations, which is “a celebration of unity amongst the diverse biomes across the city, will be recognized with special performances such as ice-skating spectaculars from the heart of Tundratown!” A Zoogether Day live broadcast will be held by Heidi Howler, which is part of what we’ll be seeing as guests in the show.
We’ll also get to see an audio-animatronic of none other than Benjamin Clawhauser, who is decked out in glow necklaces, bracelets, and his favorite glittery Gazelle tee shirt to celebrate the day. He really wants to become the V.I.Z. (Very Important Zootopian – the lucky mammal who will get special access to the Zoogether Day performers). But when things don’t go as planned, he takes things into his own hands.
While we’re still slightly bummed that an Animal Kingdom opening day attraction is now closed, especially since its California counterpart closed in 2018 to make way for Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure, we will always remember the 3D bug glasses and the terrifying Hopper animatronic. We’re also thrilled this new show doesn’t involve us getting “stung,” — we won’t miss that at all!
