When it comes to surviving Disney World, we know a thing or two

What do you REALLY need?
Our team has been going to the parks for decades, and we have tested hundreds, if not thousands, of products to make each park day a little easier! Now, we’ve narrowed it down to 5 things that you need to bring to the parks to make each day easier and more magical.
There are lots of things that are considered “Disney essentials,” like ears, accessories, and more! While we do love them, we can survive without them even on our toughest park days. No, the true Disney necessities are the ones that will save you in a pinch thanks to dead phones, weather, and more!
FuelRods
Portable chargers have become a true necessity in Disney World, especially if you’re trying to maximize your experience. Our phones have truly become the key to the world in the parks thanks to the My Disney Experience App. You can check wait times, pay to skip long lines, order your food ahead of time, and even check out while shopping through the app, which is so nice! It can also drain your battery quicker than you can get through the Space Mountain line, so portable chargers are a necessity. We have plenty of favorites, but Fuel Rods are elite because once they die, you can exchange them for a fresh and fully charged power bank in the parks and airports. You never have to worry about your phone or charger dying again!
Frogg Togg Ponchos
One of the most difficult things about Disney World is the weather! While it can be unpredictable at times, it’s a safe bet to assume it’s going to rain at some point during your trip, especially during hurricane season, which lasts from June to November. Dealing with rain can be a damper on the day, but if you’ve got a Frogg Togg, you can keep heading from one ride to the next! It doesn’t stick to you like cling wrap, and it comes with a carrying case that lets you store it easily without getting your things wet. It’s inexpensive and reliable. That’s why it’s a must for us, every single time!
JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan
Again with that darn weather! If it’s not raining in Disney World, it’s another safe bet to assume it will be hot! Luckily, we can combat that easily thanks to this mini fan. We’ve tested several fans, but the JISULIFE version has proved reliable every single time. It fits easily in our park bags, folds up so it’s as small as possible, and recharges quickly and easily. It has 19 hours of cooling time, and it even serves as a backup power bank as needed.
Flat Plug Power Strip
IF you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of things to charge now during your vacation. Your phone, fans, portable chargers, watches, tablets, and MagicBands all need charging, just to name a few. While Disney has started adding more outlets and USB ports in the hotel rooms, if you have several people in one room, it might present a challenge of how to get everything plugged in. That’s where this power strip comes in! It makes prepping for the parks easier and is another item that you can use at home every day, making the purchase even more “worth it” in our eyes.
Best Park Bags
What good are these necessities if you have nothing to carry them in? The wrong park bag can make your day more difficult. The same bag won’t be perfect for everyone! The size of your bag will depend on what you need to bring. We love a good crossbody for shorter trips, a Loungefly if you’re traveling lighter, and a solid backpack if you’re carrying essentials for the entire family. Not sure what’s right for you? You can see all of our favorites right here!
There are so many things that can make your Disney trip easier and better, but these 5 things will make sure you’re doing the parks right every time! As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney necessities, tips, and tricks!
