Disney has parks all over the world, and while we’re seeing tons of construction and additions at our home park of Disney World, there are also lots of projects happening in Disneyland, as well as Disneyland Paris, and recently, we just learned about an attraction expansion coming to Shanghai Disney! In case you’ve been bogged down with work and life in general, here are some of the biggest updates you may have missed from the Disney parks this week.

Over in Shanghai Disney, the popular Soaring Over the Horizon ride will be getting around a 50% increase in capacity, as well as a special new ending! This ride is very similar to Soarin’ in both Disney World and Disneyland, as it takes riders on an exhilarating flight over some of the wonders of the world. The new ending will take guests over Shanghai Disney, and other new additional magical surprises will be included as well. There’s no timeline for these changes just yet, but Shanghai Disney told us to stay tuned, and that’s just what we’ll do!

Meanwhile, if you’re planning on sailing the seven seas on the Disney Treasure soon, there’s a special experience at the Haunted Mansion Parlor you cannot miss, especially if you’re a fan of spooky scavenger hunts. You’ll need to grab a DisneyBand+ (similar to MagicBand+, but this is just used for Disney Cruise Line vacations) to make use of this, but Disney has announced that starting this October, “use your DisneyBand+ for a Happy Hunt to find hidden ghosts throughout the ship. Return them to Madame Leota for a swinging wake!” Yes, that means a ghost scavenger hunt is available, and when you do find all the ghosts, you’ll unlock something special in the lounge. It sounds like this experience is very close to the Bounty Hunter game available for MagicBand+ users in Galaxy’s Edge, which has been a big hit!

Haunted Mansion Parlor

We’re super stoked for the new Tropical Americas land coming to Animal Kingdom, and we were so thrilled to finally get an update about the new Encanto attraction coming to Pueblo Esperanza inside the new land! Jared Bush, a writer/director on Encanto and Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, recently made a tweet that said, “Flying home from Europe and my plane homework will be writing new dialogue for… the Encanto attraction at #DisneyAnimalKingdom which means new words for the magical, fantastical Familia Madrigal!” This is so exciting for many reasons — one, because it means progress is being made on the attraction, and two, because it means that we’re getting NEW scenes, animation, and, of course, dialogue, for the ride. We can’t wait to hear more!
