Who’s up for some Gyozas of the Galaxy?! Okay, wait… let’s back up a minute…
Gyozas of the Galaxy is a brand new Marketplace Food Booth at the 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! True, the Festival has been in full swing for a solid month now; however, Gyozas of the Galaxy and Coastal Eats were not slated to join the lineup of the Festival Marketplace Booths until now, so we’re here to bring you our full review of this new addition to this year’s Food and Wine Festival, to add to our COMPLETE LIST of all our Food and Wine Festival reviews!
Menu
Just like the Food Booth itself, the Gyozas of the Galaxy menu is brand new, too. The Gyoza (or Japanese dumplings) up for grabs include Buffalo-style Dumplings, French Onion Soup-style Dumplings, and Street Corn-style Dumplings.
You can pair your dumplings with a Pineapple Colada or Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris.
Are you ready? Me, too… let’s dig in!
Eats
First up, the Buffalo-style Dumplings are $6.00. The chicken dumplings are made with buffalo sauce and plated with a celery root purée, blue cheese cream, crumbled blue cheese, shaved carrot, and micro celery. We appreciated that these have a low heat, which is offset nicely by the celery root and blue cheese. The dumplings are also well done and meaty with just that hint of buffalo sauce. If you’re expecting something spicy, though, these may not be for you
Now here’s a souped up twist for you: the French Onion Soup-style Dumplings are pork and beef soup dumplings swimming in caramelized onions, sherry-beef broth, and an onion and Gruyère soubise. The dish is garnished with Parmesan cracker and micro chives. This batch is also $6.00. Y’all…this is one to watch out for. This is like a dumpling version of French onion soup in the best way possible. Imagine your favorite French onion soup, and then put it inside a dumpling. This is SO that, and it’s SO good. It’s nice and brothy, thick and creamy, and all those flavors you already love.
Finally, the Street Corn-style Dumplings, despite the name, are not a vegetarian item. For $6.00, these are actually chicken dumplings with tomatillo salsa verde, street corn salad, cotija cheese, lime crema, and cilantro. This was our fave. It’s packed with a lot of that wonderful street corn filling (and it tastes like street corn), with the corn itself being nicely toasted. It’s literally elote in dumpling form. This is some Disney magic, y’all.
Okay, we’ve had our fill of food, so what’s to drink?
Drinks
Those craving a cocktail can choose the new Pineapple Colada for $12.00. It’s made with white rum, DOLE Pineapple Juice, and sweetened coconut milk. Warning: the sweetened coconut milk tends to separate in the heat. It tastes like somebody opened up a can of pineapple juice, threw some rum in it, and that was it. We were really hoping for a more mixed colada taste, and this might have even been better as a frozen drink. However, this is the first day for this booth, so it’s still trying to find its footing…this could be better tomorrow or later on.
Wine drinkers can opt for the Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris for $6.50. This was a lovely dry wine that still had a nice amount of sweetness. The dryness also doesn’t linger, making it a wine that’s easy to sip.
So, how are we feeling about this new addition to the Festival?
OVERALL
There was a pretty long line for this booth ahead of its opening, but we think this is going to be one of the more popular food booths at the festival. The dumplings are all solid, and it’s also a great spot to get a wine that’s easy to drink. We’ll be checking back in at some point to see if the cocktail improves because after all, it IS this booth’s first day (it’s just a baby, y’all).
Thanks for joining us at Gyozas of the Galaxy! And remember, there’s a LOT more where this came from…
