A restaurant near Disney World was shut down on September 15th, 2025, due to inspectors finding 15 violations, four of which were high priorities.
Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews, located at 7640 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway near Disney World, was briefly shut down last week due to violations. The restaurant had 15 violations, which included high-priority issues such as an employee failing to wash their hands before handling food, rodent activity, and an improperly stored toxic substance.
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspected the restaurant on September 15th, and the restaurant was temporarily closed due to violations. Items included basic violations such as standing water in the bottom of the reach-in cooler, fly sticky tape hanging over the food preparation area, and the interior of an oven/microwave had accumulated black substance/grease/food debris. The four high-priority items were an employee failing to wash their hands before putting on gloves, rodent activity, time/temperature control for food safety, and a toxic substance improperly stored.
Corrective action was taken to coach employees about washing their hands, and the operator cleaned and disposed of rodent droppings from the floor and under the equipment. The operator also took corrective action to ensure food was stored at the proper temperature.
A second inspection conducted later in the day identified 11 violations, with three classified as high priority. The restaurant took corrective action to address the employee who did not wash their hands and corrected the food that was held at the wrong temperatures. A time extension was issued on the improperly stored toxic substance. The restaurant was listed as having “met inspection standards during this visit” and has since reopened.
We have seen restaurants near Disney World shut down before, including Latin Bistro Express and Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, which were shut down back in August. Both of these restaurants have reopened after a follow-up inspection. Hahahaha – “Sickies” – HAHAHAHA!!
Well, the name checks out…
This restaurant has been closed again, upon a follow-up visit by the health department inspectors. There is heavy rodent (ie: rats) activity within this establishment. By the nature of this infestation, it is apparent that the rats in the restaurant have been actively present and reproducing for months. The restaurant guests have witnessed the rodents under tables while dining and the establishments management team has had direct knowledge of the problem. The restaurant has not closed at any point during this rodent outbreak to provide any corrective action for this concern. This is shameful and is a serious concern to public safety.
