Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is the land of a million snack stands.
Okay, maybe not quite a million, but it’s certainly home to quite a few, each with their own unique and adventurous menu. One of our favorite places to grab a snack in the park is Mr. Kamal’s, and recently, we stopped by to try two of the menu items to see if they’re still up to scratch!
Atmosphere
Mr. Kamal’s is located in the Asia section of the park, near the Feathered Friends in Flight bird show. It’s one of three small stands in this area, including Warung Outpost and Caravan Road.
Mr. Kamal’s is one of the Animal Kingdom snack stands that’s open pretty regularly, unlike some of the spots around the park that are open seasonally or only at lunchtime. They only have two food items on the menu here, as well as a selection of beverages. This spot shares seating with the nearby snack stands, and there are a couple of spots to choose from. You can find several tables with a stunning view of the Tree of Life, as well as tables located inside a gazebo overlooking the water.
There’s also a small seating area just past Caravan Road and up a hidden pathway. This is one of our favorite spots to sit when we’re looking to escape the crowds.
But enough about the vibes — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
The two menu items you can snag here are the famous Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries and the slightly-less-famous Chicken Dumplings.
You can also grab a variety of fountain drinks (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Lemonade, or Powerade), bottled water, and choose from an assortment of beer.
Eats
First, we, of course, got Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries for $6.49. These come with a side of sriracha mayonnaise, which is a little divisive considering the history of the dipping sauces here.
Years ago, you could order these fries, and they were topped with tzatziki salad and sriracha ketchup. That changed after a while, and instead, Disney began serving them with an array of sauces. At one time or another, you could get Saffron Aioli, Honey Kimchi Ketchup, Tandoori Honey Mustard, Curried Honey Mustard, Korean Chili Ketchup, Sriracha Ketchup, and more. Eventually, when the snack stand reopened in 2020, the options were whittled down to Curried Honey Mustard and Korean Chili Ketchup.
But now, there’s ONE MEASLY SAUCE. We used to be able to get FOUR at a time, and now we only get one. And is it even worth it? Currently, it is served with a sriracha mayo. We would compare this sauce to more of an aioli, and it wasn’t spicy in the slightest. It was creamy and had a bit of tanginess to it, but overall, it had a very mild flavor.
The good news is that at least the fries are as good as ever. They were a bit chewier than we remembered but the seasoning on top definitely elevates this snack. The seasoning gives these fries lots of savory flavor with a hint of spice and earthiness.
The other thing we picked up here is the often-overlooked Chicken Dumplings for $6.79. These are served with ponzu.
They were VERY crispy on the outside, but it was a great compliment to the chewy interior. We thought the chicken was tasty and mild, but we think it needed a bit more salt. You can definitely taste the green onion flavor come through. It is served with a
So, should you stop by Mr. Kamal’s on your next trip?
Nosh or Not
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You are looking for a quick and easy spot to grab a snack. Since the location only serves two food items and drinks, there isn’t usually a huge line. And even if there is a line, it moves quickly! This is a great option if you are feeling a bit snacky, but don’t want to waste too much time.
- Fries are life, and you want fries with a bit of spice. We love the seasoning on these fries, and they are perfect if you are looking for fries with a bit more pizzazz.
- You love all things savory snacks. While there isn’t a huge menu, if you are looking for a great savory snack, this could be a great option for you!
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You want a snack spot with a lot of different options. Mr. Kamal’s only has two options for food, so if you want something else, you may want to head elsewhere. You could stop by Flame Tree Barbecue, Satu’li Canteen, or Harambe Market.
- You are looking for a sweet treat. Savory is the name of the game at Mr. Kamal’s (unless you count a fountain drink as a sweet treat). You won’t find any cookies, cupcakes, etc. here, so if your sweet tooth is calling, you will want to stop somewhere else. You can head over to the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck, Tamu Tamu Refreshments, or Zuri’s Sweets Shop.
- You want to snack while enjoying air conditioning. There are quite a few options for seating nearby Mr. Kamal’s, but none of them are air-conditioned. If you are looking for air conditioning, try checking out Pizzafari or Restaurantosaurus.
Overall
While the menu may not hold a lot of options, we are still fans of Mr. Kamal’s. This small stand offers two tasty snack options that are quick and easy to grab. Both are perfect when you want a small, savory bite to eat. We still miss our dipping sauce options, but it is hard to beat a basket of seasoned fries or a basket of crispy dumplings.
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more!

Is there anyplace nearby that you can get cheese sauce? I think that would be a great hack.
