Refurbishments are nothing new at Walt Disney World, as rides at all four theme parks are often under refurbishment. However, it’s not ONLY the parks that are having work done.
There is A LOT of construction work going on at Disney World, and some of that construction work involves remodeling rooms across numerous Disney World hotels. If you hope to find yourself staying in a recently refurbished hotel room, then we are rounding up the Disney World hotels with brand-new rooms in 2025.
Disney World opened its newest Disney Vacation Club hotel, Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, in 2024.
The new tower boasts gorgeous views of Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom, but if you don’t want to stay in a brand-new hotel, just a brand-new room, then you will want to consider these hotels for your 2025 Disney World vacation.
First up, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter underwent room refurbishments beginning in May 2024, with work wrapping up in the spring of 2025.
The new rooms feature colorful theming and patterns reminiscent of Mardi Gras (naturally), as well as some references to the iconic New Orleans-set Disney film The Princess and the Frog.
Disney’s Yacht Club also refurbished some of its guest rooms during a project that lasted from January 2025 through May 2025.
If you want something with more open space, you may want to check out Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The Cabins at Fort Wilderness have slowly been replaced with new Disney Vacation Club cabins. The project finished in April 2025.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is working on remodeling its guest rooms. The remodeling was completed in September 2025. We had the chance to check out one of the tower’s newly refurbished rooms to see exactly what there is to offer and what has changed.
Specifically, we toured a 2-Bedroom Villa, which sleeps nine people.
There’s also a seating area…
… and a pull-down bed.
There’s a full eat-in kitchen, complete with refrigerator, oven and stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Since this is a Disney Vacation Club room, it features additional amenities, including a decent-sized dining table for families to enjoy meals together.
The Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are also undergoing some remodels and are expected to be done in September 2025. Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside will begin reimagining its Magnolia Bend rooms (including the Royal Rooms) in April 2025. The remodel is expected to last through January 2026. The hotel is not guaranteed to have new rooms in 2025, but some remodeling may be done before 2026.
Finally, Disney’s Pop Century Resort will also begin remodeling its guest rooms in late March 2025. The refurbishments will continue through mid-February 2026. Similar to Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside, it is possible to see some guest rooms done before February 2026, but there are no guarantees. Of course, even if you stay at one of the resorts undergoing guest room refurbishments, there is no guarantee that you will be put in a new room. However, these hotels will be debuting new rooms in 2025, so you might just get lucky!

How about most comfortable beds? We usually stay at the Grand Floridian but the beds, there are no longer comfortable. Any suggestions?
I like everyone I’ve stayed in for different reasons, but our favourite is Caribbean beach. It’s a tough one between this and Coronado springs , but just seeing the skyliner over our pool near the back is priceless and very cool .
My husband and I recently stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. I requested a room with a bath tub because I get stiff and sore from a lot of walking in the parks. This turned out to be a room for disabled people, which was fine except that there was very little space to hang up clothes. The table in the room was tiny. Also the water was not very warm. I was very unhappy with these changes. I have loved French Quarter, but I’m not sure we want to keep visiting there.
The Boardwalk is receiving a significant amount of refurbishment and maintenance, which is needed. I think the theming is less than what Disney is capable of doing, which is sad. The Board walk area itself needs some new investment also. Jelly Rolls is vacant, a new restaurant still has not replaced Big River. The refurbishment of the Boardwalk Villas is still underway.
Earlier this year we stayed in a refurbished room at Bay Lake Tower. We were pleased with the refreshed, new look. However the one thing that struck me was the “plainness” of the covers in the bedrooms. This would have been an opportunity to add a spark of color. Looking at the photos of other refurbished resorts, they appear to use the same plain beige bedding. It’s probably cost efficient to use the method, but it is a missed opportunity for a “wow look” in the bedrooms.
