2025 has seen Disney embrace a new restaurant trend, and we are huge fans of it so far!
This year, the resort has opened not one, but two brand-new lounges: The Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Beak and Barrel in the Magic Kingdom, and the Spaceship Earth-inspired GEO-82 at EPCOT.
We love it when Disney incorporates details from attractions around the parks or on merchandise. Now Disney Adults can eat and drink in the respective worlds of Pirates of the Caribbean and Spaceship Earth—two fan-favorite Disney World attractions.
Beak and Barrel
First announced in 2023, the Beak and Barrel opened to a rapturous response this past August.
The new, reservation-only (for now) lounge offers non-alcoholic beverages, including The Treasure Trove, and The Cursed Treasure and cocktails including the Salty Seas mARRRgarita, the Siren’s Whisper, the Barrels Ablaze, the Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale.
Guests can enjoy those drinks in a high-themed, pirate atmosphere, which features two major rooms:
The Mess: A large central space themed as a former mess hall for Spanish soldiers, The Mess features long tables that span the room, “allowing for pirates to gather ‘round and tell their own tales, while an imposing anchor covered in candles and dripping wax hangs high above. A large bar anchors one side of the room, cobbled together from salvaged portions of a cursed shipwreck. At its center, the skull-shaped stern holds an impressive collection of grogs and brew. Guests may also spot the Enchanted Rum Bottle, which was gifted to Merry by the enchantress Tia Dalma and seemingly serves as the source of the tavern’s specialty brews, or Rummy hobbling along the bar’s ledge, greeting the patrons and keeping a close eye on the crew while Merry is away. “
The Captain’s Quarters: Themed as the former living space of a Spanish Comandante, the luxurious Captain’s Quarters featuring intricate theming including “fine artwork and drapery”on the walls, much of which “hasn’t escaped slashing blades or burn marks over the years by rambunctious pirates” and group of five ships in a bottle sitting on the mantle mounted above the fireplace that are “rumored to represent pirates from every corner of the world banding together to defeat tyranny.” According to Disney, guests should “keep a weathered eye out, as these mysterious bottles have been known to come alive and engage in a fearsome battle.
Arguably, the bar’s key menu item is the $46 Plunderer’s Punch. Why does this mixture of Kraken Black Spiced Rum, blackberry, lime, and vanilla cost so much? Because it served in a souvenir pirate skull mug.
The cocktail itself doesn’t have a heavy rum flavor to it, and it is more of a hint of rum. We found this one to be very fruity, with a tropical flavor.
GEO-82
Moving over to EPCOT, we have the 21+ lounge GEO-82, the first adult’s only space ever in a Disney theme park.
Themed to EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth, this lounge emphasizes the attraction’s “stories, shapes, and enduring legacy” and has been decorated with rich textures and warm metallic tones for a “mysterious and elegant intimacy.”
The standout drink at the lounge for us was the $28 Brown Butter Old Fashioned! The drink is made with Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon, brown butter, maple, and Hella Cocktail Co. Mexican chocolate bitters. This one was the clear winner for us, as it tasted like brown butter with a heavy kick from the alcohol. It was so brown butter-y that you could feel the butter on your lips.
Not only will Disney World soon have ride-themed lounges, but Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship has debuted with hints of the theme parks!
Skipper Society Lounge
Aboard the Disney Treasure, you will find the Skipper Society Lounge, which is themed after the World Famous Jungle Cruise! This lounge pays homage to the skippers, and there are so many fun details.
The menu has a handful of cocktails, including the HippopotoMai-Tai, which you can find at Trader Sam’s Grogg Grotto. They also serve different wines, beers, and specialty coffee drinks. They even have snacks, like waffles!

Haunted Mansion Parlor
If you are ever aboard the Disney Treasure, you do not want to miss out on the Haunted Mansion Parlor! This lounge is dark and cozy, and there are so many hidden details.
If you are looking for a souvenir to take home with you, the parlor has a few different Haunted Mansion-themed tiki mugs, such as the Sea Captain and a haunting siren. There is even a hidden menu, and if you solve the riddle on the tablet, you’ll be able to see a hidden cocktail!

Periscope Pub
While 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea may no longer be at Disney World, you can find a nod to the attraction and film aboard the Disney Treasure! The Periscope Pub is inspired by a submarine with “19th-century steampunk influences.”
The menu features light bites and craft brews. This lounge is super immersive, with windows on the ceiling that make you feel like you’re in a submarine!

Very excited about the new lounges in WDW! We need more lounges in MK good to see at least one coming! Add some carts like in animal kingdom with some delicious Beverly’s to the mix.
So exciting to see so many great places to get out of the chaos and take a calm, refreshing break!
This place sounds incredible! The drinks alone especially that Salty Seas margarita and the Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale are making me want to book a trip right now! I’ve been trying to grab a reservation but no luck so far How did you manage to snag yours? Any tips for someone who’s dying to check it out?
I’m sorry, but I disagree. I believe Walt did not want alcohol served in Disneyland. He would roll over in his grave life he knew what was currently going on in the name of profits. Sad!
