Everybody loves Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland!

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
The popular ride in Mickey’s Toon Town is one of our favorite attractions at the park — it will have you singing “Nothing Can Stop Us Now” all day long. We ride it so much that we know everything about it, including this new ride rule. If you don’t want to be a rule-breaker the next time you ride this attraction, you might want to take a look at this!
If you’re riding Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland, you are no longer allowed to hold on to any loose items — yes, that includes cell phones.

No Cell Phones
That means you won’t be able to hold up your phone for photos and videos, if that’s what you like to do when going on attractions.

Trust us, you don’t want to be the person with their phone out when you’re not supposed to have it out. We’ve been on too many rides where other guests are breaking that rule, and Cast Members will cut the music and tell you to put your phone away over the speaker. It’s pretty embarrassing, and you don’t want to be that guest who’s ruining the experience for others.

The ride isn’t like a Space Mountain or a Big Thunder Mountain; however, it does involve some jerkiness and sudden twists. The rule may have been put into place if they’ve experienced guests losing items like phones on the ride.

Runaway Railway
Losing your phone on a ride is never fun! If you think it’s easy for Cast Members to get your phone or other lost items back from this ride, think again. They will have to shut down the attraction to get your missing item, and it may be a while before you get it back.

Nothing Can Stop Us Now!
We’ve talked a lot about phones on the ride, but the same rule applies to all loose items. You won’t want to be wearing things like a hat or sunglasses on here!

Come on in!
Remember, be a rule-follower at Disney, not a rule-breaker! No one wants to be the person who’s ruining the experience for other guests who have paid a lot of money for that magical vacation. For more Disney news and updates, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog.

Totally agree with this. It’s a ride that jerks the car around, spins, and not one on which I want to be holding anything but the safety bar. You don’t need to act like your phone has been permanently attached to your hand. Put it away and be in the moment!
Because it’s a trackless ride it will break down the ride until it is cleared away causing delays for all the guests.
