There’s a lot of construction happening around Disney World. The parks are busy adding new lands and expansions, as well as updating rides. But Disney World hotels have also been busy getting some updates.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Recently, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa began to get some updates to its lobby, and construction is well underway for that project. However, Disney has filed a permit suggesting that even more work is coming to the hotel, this time at its entrance.
Disney just filed a new permit with Orange County, Florida for a new project there to make updates to the employee parking lot at the hotel, as well as to the main entrance, which will connect to two new roundabouts that are currently being constructed with another project that will update World Drive to improve traffic control around Magic Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom resort area.

If driving to the Grand Floridian, note that construction could change how you approach the hotel, although Disney hasn’t confirmed any details about that yet.
Changes are also coming to the entrance to the Grand Floridian’s wedding pavilion. That parking lot will be affected by the changes on World Drive, so a new driveway will be constructed at the wedding pavilion.

So that’s just more construction you’ll have to keep an eye out if you’re visiting or staying at this hotel in the near future.
