Gliding high above Disney World on the Skyliner feels like magic, but the Cast Members who load you in know a few truths they’ll never actually say out loud.

Skyliner
The Disney Skyliner is a gondola connecting EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios with several Disney Resorts. The friendly Cast Members who are operating this free form of Disney transportation have some things to tell you, but they won’t, so we will instead!
1. Be Ready
The Disney Skyliner doesn’t stop and wait for you — it’s a continuously moving gondola system. That means when it’s your turn to board, you need to be ready to step in quickly. Cast Members won’t say it out loud, but they’re silently rooting for you not to hold up the flow. Have your stroller ready to move, your backpack zipped, and your crew prepared before you reach the loading platform. A little preparation makes the process smoother for you, the Cast Members, and the long line of guests behind you.

2. Don’t Sit There
Motion sickness and the Skyliner don’t mix well, especially if you pick the wrong seat. Pro tip: always sit facing forward in the direction the gondola is traveling. Sitting backward might seem like no big deal, but for those who get queasy easily, it can quickly turn magical views into a not-so-fun experience. Cast Members won’t call you out, but they’d love for you to know this trick before you settle in.

3. We Can Hear You
Here’s a little secret: the Skyliner isn’t exactly a private booth. Sound carries, and both Cast Members at the stations and fellow riders in nearby gondolas can hear more of your conversation than you think. Whether you’re gossiping or venting about your day, it’s good to remember you’ve got an audience. Keep it family-friendly, and maybe save the juiciest details for when you’re back on the ground.

4. We Know You’re Just Here for The Skyliner
Let’s be honest, the Skyliner is so fun, it feels like a ride all on its own. Cast Members can always tell when guests are hopping on just to enjoy the trip, not necessarily to stay at a connected resort like Disney’s Riviera Resort. And guess what? They don’t mind one bit! There’s no rule against treating the Skyliner as a free Disney attraction, so go ahead — ride, relax, and take in those sweeping views of the parks.
