NEWS: ‘Bluey: The Movie’ Is Coming To Theaters in 2027!

Okay, so we know we have a lot of Bluey fans among our readers, or at least our readers’ kids (who are we kidding, we’re adults and we LOVE Bluey!).

We try to share all the big Bluey news with you when we find it, including details about new episodes on Disney+, new experiences, or when we find brand new Bluey merchandise online. Well, we’re about to share the biggest Bluey news EVER! Bluey is finally getting a movie, and it has a release date!

BBC Studios and Walt Disney Studios, in partnership with Ludo Studio, have officially announced that a new feature-length Bluey movie will be coming to theaters on August 6th, 2027. We told you this was the biggest Bluey news EVER! Bluey is officially headed to the big screen!

First revealed in 2024, the movie is being written and directed by Joe Brumm, Bluey’s creator, and produced by Ludo Studio in collaboration with BBC Studios. It’s being produced by Amber Naismith and co-directed by Richard Jeffery (Bluey, Seasons 1-3). Brumm will also act as executive producer with Justine Flynn for BBC Studios, with Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson from Ludo Studio. On the Disney side of things, the movie will be overseen by David Greenbaum, president of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios, and his team. Sounds like it’s in really good hands, y’all!

Bluey even appeared in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

Bluey’s original voice actors will also return for the movie, including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Mum (Chilli) and Dad (Bandit). This will be Bluey‘s big screen debut, so maybe Bluey can add to its award collection that already includes an Emmy and BAFTA. Academy Awards, here we come!
