Connections Cafe and Eatery is a special, additional location for this year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! Come with us as we check out what’s on the menu this year.
The 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially opened, and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you; we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to Connections Cafe and Eatery to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Connections Cafe and Eatery has a variety of special Festival items this year — both sweet and savory.
First up is the Chocolate Baumkuchen, which we’ve also ordered on non-Festival days. You can also order a new French Onion Burger made with caramelized onions and Gruyère cheese on a toasted brioche bun. The Festival-themed drink is a Passion Fruit Cream Slush made with passion fruit, evaporated milk, vanilla syrup, and coconut cream. You can order it non-boozy or add rum for a boozy version.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
Here it is, the iconic Chocolate Baumkuchen. This sweet $6.49 dish is made with chocolate ganache and whipped cream. Simple, sweet, and SO fun to look at, right?
Despite its appearance (so photogenic!), we were a tad disappointed in this dessert. Overall, it’s a cute little snack, but if we’re really being critical, the treat was a little bland and dry, even with the ganache.
Next, we checked out the new French Onion Burger. This $14.49 burger is made with a gourmet beef blend, caramelized onions, and Gruyère cheese on a toasted brioche bun.
So, we ran into an interesting issue with this burger. Specifically, the texture was completely dominated by onions, but at the same time, it had little actual onion flavor. The burger felt a bit bland, though really, it’s a pretty standard theme park burger. If you’re craving a salty, filling meal in EPCOT, this could be exactly what you need!
Plus, this is one of the few Festival options that comes with a cool air conditioning break AND a wealth of seating. So, is it the best burger in the world? Probably not. But hey, it’s a burger — you know what to expect.
Drinks
The Festival drink this year is a Passion Fruit Cream Slush made with passion fruit, evaporated milk, vanilla syrup, and coconut cream for $6.49. This drink can be ordered non-boozy or add rum for a spirited twist.
This drink was so fun and fruity! The passion fruit flavor isn’t too tart, which we appreciated, but it was a bit sweet with the traditional taste of passion fruit. The texture was a perfect combination of a milkshake and a slushy, where it’s thick and creamy like a milkshake but with ice bits that will instantly melt on your tongue. If you’re a passion fruit fan, we think you should add this to your list, and while it’s not the most unique drink, it’s a great option and delightfully refreshing.
OVERALL
Overall, Connections was a bit of a disappointment when it comes to the Food & Wine Festival. Maybe a major fan of onions on burgers would want to give the burger a whirl, but other than that, it feels like it’s not worth the stop.
There are better options — like the Canada booth, the Mexico booth, and many, many more. Check out our reviews below for more dining inspiration!

I LOVE onions on my burgers…and just about anything else!…but my real question is: Where is sweet, cold apple cider? Too many booths are offering hard cider (ick!). Doesn’t anyone have sweet apple cider?? It is fall after all!!
