Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is stunning. Between the grand lobby, the cozy fireplaces, and the quiet boat ride to Magic Kingdom, it feels like stepping into a rustic retreat right in the middle of Disney World.
But here’s the truth: as dreamy as it is, I quickly realized there were a few things I wish I had bought before staying here. If you’re planning a trip, these essentials are about to make your stay way more comfortable (and less stressful).
Flat Plug Power Strip
If you’ve ever stayed in a Disney hotel, you know the outlets are never where you need them—or there aren’t enough of them. Wilderness Lodge rooms are gorgeous, but between charging my phone, laptop, Apple Watch, camera, and everything else, I was playing musical chairs with the outlets. This flat plug power strip would’ve solved it all. It turns a single outlet into three outlets plus two USB-A and two USB-C ports—so seven devices charging at once. The flat, angled plug means it sits flush against the wall and doesn’t block other outlets, which is perfect in a hotel room where every inch of space matters. The braided cord is durable, the USB-C is fast charging, and it’s compact enough to throw in your park bag. Honestly, it’s the kind of thing you don’t realize you need until you’re fighting your family for the only free outlet.
The Wilderness Lodge lobby is magical, but sometimes the AC in Disney hotels can feel like Elsa set it to “permanent winter.” I had packed a hoodie, but I wish I had brought this plush travel blanket with me. It’s super soft, big enough (70 x 48 inches) to actually cover you, and comes in its own little travel pouch that doubles as a pillow. This would’ve been perfect for curling up on the balcony to watch the Electrical Water Pageant or to nap under after a long park day. It even clips to your luggage, so you don’t have to waste bag space. And unlike Disney’s hotel blankets, this one is actually soft and cozy.
8 Set Packing Cubes
These packing cubes would’ve saved me from chaos. The set comes in multiple sizes, which means I could’ve kept my park clothes separate from my dinner outfits, and my pajamas separate from everything else. The mesh tops help you see what’s inside without unzipping, and they keep clothes from getting wrinkly. They also make unpacking way faster—just pull the cubes out and pop them into the dresser. If you’re staying more than a couple of nights, this is a game changer.
BAGSMART Travel Toiletry Bag
Wilderness Lodge bathrooms are beautiful, but counter space can feel limited. Between toothbrushes, makeup, sunscreen, and all the other stuff, I was juggling everything in a pile on the sink. This BAGSMART toiletry bag would’ve fixed that. It’s roomy with four compartments, so you can keep things upright and organized. The waterproof lining is a lifesaver if something leaks (because of course the shampoo bottle wants to leak). It zips open wide, which makes grabbing things so much easier than digging through a pouch. It even stands upright, so bottles don’t tip over. If you’re a family sharing one bathroom, this is worth every penny.
If you’re staying at Wilderness Lodge with a little one, this is the number one thing you’ll wish you would’ve packed. Our room had a giant soaking tub and a glass-door shower, neither of which were baby-friendly. That means, you might end up doing bath time in the sink, which is not ideal. This inflatable travel bathtub would be perfect. It inflates quickly, has a little saddle horn to keep babies from sliding, and even has a drain plug for easy cleanup. Plus, it folds down small enough to fit in a suitcase. If your kiddo is between 6 and 24 months, this makes bath time way less stressful. Trust me, trying to bathe a slippery toddler in a deep tub is not the kind of Wilderness Lodge adventure you want.

Precious moments
Better pack bottle water and beer or you’ll go broke on there 15 dollar a can
I just returned from wilderness Lodge. I definitely echoed a sentiment of the relaxing atmosphere versus other Disney hotels.
Last year we stayed at Coronado springs in the casitas. They were okay but doesn’t hold a candle to the wilderness Lodge.
We visited several hotels this time taking the boat to Contemporary and then the Monorail to the Polynesian. Both of them were quite busy and overwhelming. When we returned to the Lodge is was bliss.
Now onto your list, there are 3 outlets between the beds on top of the nightstand. Actually 4 outlets if you unplug the Disney little screen thing that I never use.
There are also outlets under the shelves on either side of the bed.
One thing I bought after our last trip was long USB-C cables. All of my devices use USBC and so I packed little Anker chargers that also double as spare batteries. It charges 2 devices and has a built in cable for on the go.
The blanket I totally agree if you want to relax somewhere in the lodge, there are tons of little fireplace nooks throughout the hotel to use and relax by.
The counter space was much better than most resorts as they have the additional shelf above the sinks which was great. I traveled with wife and 2 daughters and each one of course has their own special everything. Space was not an issue. I also love the bathroom has a separate door to shower/go to the bathroom and someone else can get ready with the dual sinks.
I pack our lotions in double Ziplock and silicone bags. Just want to make sure it doesn’t leak in the luggage.
