Disney shared quite a bit of Disney World news yesterday, including a first look at the Muppets retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and a look at the “new magic” coming to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. But that is not all; we also got the official opening date for the brand-new show coming to the Tree of Life Theater in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! will be opening on November 7th, 2025. In addition to an opening date, we also got some REALLY good news about this new show!
If you ever got to experience It’s Tough to Be a Bug, you were likely left slightly traumatized, especially during the part where you get poked in the back by a bug. Yep, we have definitely had nightmares about that particular part of the show. And if you never got to experience It’s Tough to Be a Bug, consider yourself lucky that you didn’t just have a flashback to being poked during the show. However, we have some GREAT news!
It was confirmed that the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show will NOT have anything poking you in the back during the show. No need to sit on the edge of your seat anymore to avoid the poke. We will be able to slide allll the way back in the seat and not stress in anticipation. We are definitely looking forward to relaxing during this show with this new knowledge.
This brand-new 4D show (with no bugs poking you in the back) begins when you arrive at the main stage just in time for Zoogether Day festivities. We will be seeing some new and familiar faces, including Heidi Howler, a wolf who hosts the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast. Zoogether Day is “a celebration of unity amongst the diverse biomes across the city” and it is celebrated with performances such as an ice-skating spectacular from the heart of Tundratown!
Synchronized swimming direct from Marsh Market!
Tiny mouse drone shows soaring over Little Rodentia!
And of course, a musical finale by superstar Gazelle.
We can’t wait to see this new show on November 7th — and NOT get poked in the back! Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news!

This is terrible. Celebrate the diversity? Hasn’t Disney learned anything about why they shouldn’t insert politics into their attractions?
I’m guessing Dr Duck has never seen Zootopia. And celebrating diversity is wonderful.
Why do you say this is about diversity? It’s about different animals across the World.
What is wrong with the “poking”. That was the best surprise of the last show, including the little creatures running across your feet. I’m a Disney Adult. Younger kids seem so fearful of everything. When I was a kid, I can’t tell you how many time me and my brother watched King Kong, Godzilla and ghost stories. It was fun to be scared!
Okay, so it’s not spiders coming down on our heads, it’s mice in drones. Right?
And do we still get the little critters running across our feet and seats at the end?
Ever since the very first time the wasps stung me, I’ve always leaned forward as ITTBAB reaches that point. It really hurt so there was no way I was going to let it happen again. However, I loved the ending when we had to wait for all the bugs to leave the theatre first. You could always tell who was watching the show for the first time.
That was the most fun’s how they ever had , my kids loved it and I’m sorry the poke in the back was out a little poke now we can look forward to it being kind of boring what a shame oh well I don’t mind the diversity the bugs were diverse but I so t think this will be near as fun
As one who found Its a Big’s Life traumatizing, I’m excited it’s changed! Looking forward to Zootopia.
