It seems like almost everything is under construction in Disney World right now. In the parks, there are new lands and expansions being built, while some rides are getting new updates.

Disney World hotels are also going through some changes, including a HUGE change over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Now, the Grand Floridian is making some big changes to its lobby, and we’ve been keeping an eye on things there, including the construction of a new bar. So let’s take a look at what’s been going on.
The last time we visited the Grand Floridian lobby, things were starting to come together for the new bar, which will replace the iconic bird cage (but don’t worry, because the bar will incorporate the bird cage theme into it). Here’s what things looked like the last time we visited.
The new bar
Well, things are starting to move upward…literally. When we visited the lobby recently, the bar had a new structure going up in the area, which looks like the outer frame of the new bar.

According to Disney, “the bar will pay tribute to the resort’s Victorian roots with intricate woodwork, stained glass, and brass accents.” Here’s a look at the construction from a different angle.

The whole lobby is getting a refresh, as well. This includes brand-new carpeting with Victorian-inspired borders and scrollwork, “featuring hand-drawn florals inspired by turn-of-the-century botanical studies.”
