The United Airlines app was recently updated, and we had the opportunity to use it in action. One of our favorite features was the step-by-step directions to our gate.

You know when you have a close connecting flight and you’re going to have to run off the place, and as soon as you step off, you start looking for your gate, but you have no idea where to start? This feature is changing that!

You can literally put in your exact gate number, so no more wondering why it goes from C12 to C14 and completely puts C13 in a different area.

The app also has real-time flight updates. Because of the incredible directions added, it’s able to estimate your walk time between gates, which makes it easy to see if you’ll be able to make your connection. Of course, it’s actively updated flight times to make sure you have the most accurate information.

One of our favorite parts is that the app will let you know if United can hold your plane during a tight connection. They’ll message you about it so you’re ready to hop off the plane quickly, or if you know you’ll have to reschedule.

It also has recommendations at the airport! From restaurants to try or activities to check out, it will make it easier to spend more time at the airport.

We love that United Airlines is acknowledging how difficult connecting flights can be to manage, so they’re making it as easy as they can. With easy directions, real-time status updates, and constant communication, United is making flying just a little bit less stressful.
