We have an update on Hurricane Erin, which has been upgraded to a Category 5 Hurricane.

The National Hurricane Center has issued another advisory for the growing hurricane. The hurricane season is ramping up and is beginning to impact Disney Cruises.
The National Hurricane Center has issued another advisory for the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of America. Hurricane Erin is currently located a little over 100 miles north-northeast of Grand Turk Island.

A tropical wave is creating disorganized showers and thunderstorms connected to the hurricane. The environmental conditions seem to be conducting a gradual development of the storms. The NHC has said this could lead to a tropical depression later this week.

This depression should move westward across the central Atlantic toward the Leeward Islands. The NHC has said formation over the next 48 hours is low. Chances of formation over the next 7 days are 50%. This comes after Hurricane Erin was upgraded to a Category 5 Hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph.

The growing storm has impacted sailings— including the August 16th Disney Treasure sailing. You may have already received communication from your cruise company that your cruise will be detoured to avoid the storm, changing your cruise itinerary.
