Over the years, we’ve tried EVERY kind of travel gadget and accessory one can imagine to figure out which are the best to take on your next trip to Walt Disney World.
Over the course of our testing, we’ve circled back to these being some of the BEST of the BEST.
JISULIFE 3 in 1 Handheld Mini Fan
This portable device features a fan, flashlight, and backup USB power bank, along with 19 hours of cooling time.
We found this device to be an ESSENTIAL on a Disney World trip. It’s multifunctional and compact, folding nicely to take as little space in your bag as possible. It’s beneficial for those not used to the Florida humidity who also want to decrease the number of things in their bag since you can use it as a charger as well.
Backpack Ventilation System
This Ventapak ventilation system uses an “innovative air flow backpack spacer with breathable mesh design” to create “a true separation between your backpack and your back, ensuring optimal airflow, breathability, and reduced sweat.” While $45 is a slightly pricey, we found this item to be high quality, and it worked remarkably well. I think it might be worth the value if this is a problem that bothers you.
It definitely solves the problem of excessive sweating due to backpack wearing. According to our team member, “it gives a nice breeze by creating a gap between your back and the bag. It’s a really effective product and it fixes a problem that drives me nuts constantly on hot days. It also alleviates some of the weight of your bag by redistributing it evenly. That helped me a lot with back pain after a long day. I’d wear it again!”
One thing they might change? “When you have it attached to your bag, you have to tighten your straps so that it works properly. This means you’re probably going to sweat in your armpits because the straps are snug. It also makes the bag a little difficult to get on and off, and I found myself removing the bag as few times as possible throughout the day. If there were a way to attach it without the straps being as tight, I would like that change. However, I’m not sure if that’s possible for effective weight distribution.”
While this accessory might not be essential for every traveler, anyone who deals with back problems or sweat issues could definitely make use of it.
Waterproof Shoe Covers
Available in multiple colors, these silicone shoe covers will do a fantastic job of keeping your feet nice and dry even in the midst of one of Central Florida’s near-daily rain storms, as well as other activities including going to the beach, camping, hiking, fishing, traveling, cycling, shooting and hiking.
While these shoe covers work really well, we’d advise sizing up to alleviate any discomfort from the zipper top. One word of warning? They’re not 100% foolproof. If you’ve got an open gap to the top they you’re leaving room for rain to get in. That said, they’re definitely worth picking up for your next trip, as there’s nothing worse than sopping wet shoes and socks in a theme park.
Loungefly Organizer
This divider is made of waterproof nylon, which makes it “lightweight & durable” and offers multiple pockets of “different sizes for electronics accessories, bottles, umbrella, cosmetics, travel items, wallets, and purses.”
This organizer is definitely WORTH the price in our eyes, as it’s multiple compartments leave room for everything we need in our Lounegfly, and the organizer can simply be pulled out and switched over to the next backpack, making switching between Loungeflys much easier.
In other words, if you’re someone who likes to do different outfits and coordinate with different bags during your trip, this is ESSENTIALS. And if you’re not? The organizer will help you keep everything in your bag together at all times.
HOKA Clifton 10s
These sneakers are quite comfortable, a necessity for a trip to Disney World. They’re quite bouncy, and offer tons of support at the heel. At the same time, they’re also a great fit for those with high arches to their feet. In fact, not only were these perfect for Disney, but several of our reporters even added them to their regular footwear rotation.
Mickey Fan
This Mickey-shaped fan has 3 speeds and a misting option, and even features tiny nubs that I’ll refer to as “feet” for it to be sat on a desk or table while you’re seated to keep the fan upright without tipping over. Iit has a plastic cage around the actual fan part so I don’t have to worry about a little one sticking their fingers in it, and is rechargeable with a USB-C charging cord.
One thing we’d change: The misting feature. It’s cool in theory, but not practical. When we first heard it was a “misting” fan we figured it was one like Disney where you squirt a jet of water in spurts that gets displaced by the fan blades but nope, this one is a legitimate misting fan. It creates a small stream of mist from the center ring just under the fan but it’s not very strong. In order to feel it you have to have your face very close to the fan (if it’s helpful at all), and hope that the wind’s direction doesn’t steer it away from your face, otherwise you’re turning your hand. But,while the water reservoir is small, it seems to be sufficient because I haven’t run it out yet after the first fill. Even with that issue said however, this fan is essential!
Owala Water Bottle
Owala remains one of our favorite water bottle brands. These bottles live up to the price, pricing themselves time and time again to be some of the best on the market.
They feature great design in different colors, a soft-close spout that locks with another layer to keep it spill-proof, don’t sweat on the outside, and will keep your drink cold along with your ice for several hours, even on some of the hottest days. They’re also easy to take apart and clean for reuse, and stand up to the hardest drops on the ground.
