If you’re planning a Disney World trip, one thing that’s always a little difficult to plan for is transportation from the airport.
Disney just announced a massive transportation change that will be coming, and let’s just say, it’s going to make your next Disney World trip a WHOLE lot easier! Let’s take a look at the big news.
The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. And they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation.
Alright, what’s the big news? Minnie Van airport service will be offered as another transportation option for guests staying at Deluxe Disney Resort hotels. If you have a Disney vacation planned coming up, and you’re wondering if you’ll have access to this, the change will begin on August 13th!

Disney’s Minnie Vans Service
Disney’s Minnie Van Service has been used all around the Disney World Resort, bringing guests to hotels, the parks, and Disney Springs. While not free like other transportation options around Disney World, they can be incredibly convenient. They’re powered via the Lyft app, but Disney Cast Members are the drivers — so they’re incredibly professional and knowledgeable!

Minnie Van parking lot
Standard Minnie Van vehicles fit up to 6 passengers, making it a great option for families. There are also accessible vehicles available upon request! Those ones offer seating for 5 people, along with space for 2 mobility devices. This gives the vehicle space for a maximum capacity of 7 passengers. For guests with little ones, up to two complimentary car seats are available.

If you want to book Minnie Van airport service, you can do so as early as 60 days in advance of your visit, and no later than up until 2 days before your visit. To check for availability and to book Minnie Van airport service, you can call (407) 828-3500.

Well, for starters, there are still many questions….though you did give us the phone number. It sounds like it’s not free so how much is it? Are there time limits for running? Where in the airport is their stand? Do they show a short video as Magical Express used to? I travel alone so will I be forced to wait til the van is full or pay a surcharge for a single pickup? You say these are operated by wdw, not Mears?
Speaking of Magical Express: if Disney really wanted happy guests, they would bring back Free Magical Express!!! How much greedier are Disney stockholders going to get??? How many gazillions does one need??? Loosen up the purse strings!!!
Magical Express made you feel welcomed from the airport as soon as you saw those big white Mickey hands directing you…and they took care of your luggage. It was a great way to transition to and from the airport and one felt taken care of and valued. It was fun!
If it’s convenient and a reasonable price, I would try the Minnie vans….if only to save relatives from the horrible journey to and from MCO! But Disney isn’t doing much for guests anymore so I’m guessing there are a lot of loopholes and fine print that won’t have us jumping up and down for joy but just create more confusion and stress. I’ve been going to wdw since year one as a tween and it’s sad to see how downhill Iger has taken it….just to spite Eisner bc he didn’t like him and all the wonderful things he did to extend Walt’s legacy.
Minnie vans to and from the airport sound like a (very little) step in the right direction. Let’s hope I’m wrong and they turn out to be a fun help if Magical Express isn’t coming back.
How much is the Minnie van service going to cost one-way or round-trip?
Maybe if Disney put in a Cars Land, next to the airport baggage area, and it went to Adventureland……
Oh sorry, now I’m just not making any sense about putting a Cars Land in a inappropriate location
